A couple warm days have fooled the frogs into thinking spring has sprung, leading to quite a forest chorus.

Took my youngest to the Demon Slayer movie. It's definitely more Demon Slayer. But she liked it and that's the important thing. But wow, this whole show is just really really dumb.
I almost got eval'd for the Au, already knowing I'm ADHD (diagnosed in my late 30s), but then decided it didn't matter at this point. My therapist definitely thinks I am though. Honestly, I have no idea what being autistic really means in any practical sense. I just kind of am what I am.
I have very mixed feelings about living here, which I've done for the bulk of my life, but I'm also fairly protective of it to an extent anyway. There's a lot of good here too.
Therapy is expensive, period. Hell, my co-pay just for mental health visits jumped from $20 to $50 this year. It's infuriating.
I love this show and it pains me we probably won't get new episodes for another two years.
I'm in WV, a poster state for the white trash stereotype and I'm constantly boggled by how many rich people are choosing to pay absurd amounts for rural property here. Which of course makes things harder for everyone else here.
I'm no therapist (but I have gone through a lot of them) and the conclusions here seem pretty obvious. Therapy works better if you account for a person's quirks/conditions, essentially, is something I'd hope would be standard practice by now (but clearly isn't).
Tonight, I introduced my eldest to the Thing, another of my favorites. The 4K disc is ok overall if not exceptional, but the movie itself still kicks ass.
Fuck it. It's kilt season. Too damn hot today out here in the woods
Picture of a Sony PSP in someone's hands. Headline reads: "In 2026, the PSP will be as old as the Commodore 64 was when the PSP launched". It was probably written by a sadistic young person who will someday feel the pain of age.
This is an asshole headline and as someone who had both a C64 and PSP when they were new, I strongly object.
I really like Shrinking on Apple TV (it's very funny), but I feel nearly 100% confident that none of the writers on this show have any concept of what actual therapists do (or don't do) and have only seen them on other badly written TV shows.
Just ordered two tickets to a movie tomorrow, at $5.50 each, then wondered why the total was over $17, which AMC doesn't explain until after you pay and find out it's $5 "convenience fee", because apparently this new-fangled Internet thing is too exotic for them. Wonder why theaters are in trouble.
My sister rescued a new pom. He's inbred and his name is Sandwich
Just showed my girls Aliens. It was the first R-rated film I'd ever seen in the theater and has remained one of my all-time favorite movies since. I still think it's a damn near perfect piece of filmmaking and the 4K disc is easily the best I've ever seen it look and sound.
Watched some videos about using two GPUs and Lossless Scaling to use a secondary video card just for the frame generation. I'm intrigued enough to maybe try it. I'm still running an nVidia 3070, which replaced a 1080. It might be fun just to see if adding the 1080 back does something. #steam
Had an old guy moment this morning when I woke up to a 3D print with heavy amounts of supports and remembered back to olden times (a whole 4-5 yrs ago!) to when tree (or "organic") supports weren't a thing yet, and how easy these kids have it with #3Dprinting today.
I had no idea this was a thing anymore. Back in my freelance writer heydays, I got my start by doing that, but around 94 or so it started becoming more of a rarity. I still have a folder somewhere of SASE'd rejection letters from editors. I can't imagine snailmailing a pitch now.
Right? That was the first thing I thought of when I realized the words in that headline meant what they seemed to mean. Isn't everyone taught that in kindergarten? The whole GOP needs taken out to the parking lot to have their ass kicked.
Fucking balls, people, wtf is wrong with these human-shaped taint stains?
This is bizarre. On my work machine, certain websites make the main screen start blinking like crazy. The main culprit seems to be howtogeek.com. It does it with both Chrome and Edge, even if the browser isn't in the foreground. Turning off browser hardware acceleration didn't help. #windows11
I'm also of a certain age. I hate AI and I don't need to automate anything, but I love 3D printing. I use it for all kinds of things and have found, despite not having great design skills, I really enjoy making (usually) useful, custom stuff with it. But also, I like to tinker, which helps.
I had to look them up, as I'm awful at Souls-like so avoid them, but they definitely look like something Jim Henson might've worked up for a very dark fantasy world. Like a couple steps past the Dark Crystal in grimdark tone.
Yea, nothing is cuddly in Elden Ring from what I've seen. I suppose someone might find a Critter cuddly (and the description for the toys says it's for kids, which I find weird). They are pretty small and furry at any rate.
Granted, I haven't seen the movie in like 35 years (I saw it in theaters), but it greatly one-upped Gremlins by virtue of the Critters being villainous things from space with intergalatic bounty hunters hot on their trail. I can't help but wonder if Lilo & Stitch wasn't influenced by it.
A surprisingly detailed fuzzy, toothy murderous alien critter doll thing from the aptly titled movie, Critters.
The fact that this exists suggests that I'm not the only person with a weird sense of fond nostalgia for this 1980s low-budget oddity of a movie. The six sequels I've never seen also help, I suppose.

I'm more than slightly amused Woot has Mario Kart World for $60 now, which is the price it should have been in the first place. #nintendo
I sure hope Nintendo didn't blur out all the nipples in the Switch 2 release of Blue Prince!
