Granville Island, February 28: lanterns, ripples, reflections in water, duck.
Signs of spring: magnolias, cherry blossoms, hyacinths, tulips, and daffodils.
Cats of the daily walk: tabby, tuxie, and fluffy tuxie.
Moonrises of the daily walk, February 28-March 2 (reverse order).
There might be a few photos today (posting them is, I think, a constructive form of procrastination).
Read this as you wish.
I've seen sunset skies such as this in Vancouver; if Saharan dust gets all the way over here I'm impressed and horrified all at once.
It is an utterly stunning story, subtle yet precisely and vividly observed, so moving, and ultimately devastating. I love introducing it to students.
I will look for this! I do love Collins and this is clearly a lovely edition.
Coming soon to a fine bookshop near you: The Moonstone, in the pretty 'collectible classics' series from Flame Tree Publishing, introduction by me.

Fred has chosen the wisest course: focus on what is good in life, such as naps. ๐ฅฐ
Somehow, revising the vampire novel doesn't seem like an urgent or necessary thing to do.

Halifax friends posted a summary of the budget cuts on FB; they couldn't post a link to the news site listing all. I managed to find it and it's horrifying: 13 pages of drastic cuts to sectors that desperately need funding, including arts/culture, education, social services. I can't retire there.
Big white clouds, golden hour, skyline.
Sunset clouds, Cambie Bridge, rush hour, mountains.
White tree blossoms.
Purple and white variegated crocuses with orange centres.
Sunset clouds, tree blossoms, crocuses.
I love teaching 1st-year but never took it: when I registered at MSVU in 1976, I declared an English Major and was told I didn't need it, but I did have to take Shakespeare and the Drama of his Time, a second-year course; I also signed up for Contemporary Literature (these were 6-credit courses)

Thank you for highlighting a band in Vancouver!
Then yours is abstract not realist in effect.

Dinner and a movie roundup.
Rainbow.
I found out via a post on FB from a friend in Seattle. Needless to say, I'd been sound asleep.
