Photo of a conference schedule listing a panel entitled 'Asexual Geographies'
I was really excited to attend the Asexual Geographies panel at the @rgsibg.bsky.social earlier today organised by @rachelbayer.bsky.social and @joejukes.bsky.social π Truly wonderful to hear from four researchers about their work on asexuality, even though I'm not a geographer! Lots to reflect on!
It's unfortunate to me that asexuality in media is presented as less interesting or multifaceted than allosexual identities despite being an orientation that is incredibly varied and can add a lot of dimension to a character or plot line while also providing representation
My wonderful friend is doing this research and is still looking for more people to take part! Please share π
A poster advertising a call for participants. Text is in blue boxes against a cream background covered in musical notes. The rainbow infinity neurodiversity logo is in the top right hand corner. Call for ADHD musicians! I am looking for people to take part in a research project about how ADHD affects the experience of performing music. You can take part if you: Are aged 18 or over Have ADHD (self-ID is valid). Are performing music semi-regularly (as a professional, amateur or student.) What you need to do Follow the link in the post to the survey. It will ask you questions about your attention and spontaneous movements (toe tapping, body sway, head bobbing etc.) in performance. It takes about 30 minutes and your responses are anonymous. Underneath the text there is the UK Research and Innovation, Arts and Humanities Research Council logo, the University of Birmingham logo, and the Midlands4Cities Doctoral Training Partnership, Birmingham, Coventry, Leicester and Nottingham logo.
Call for participants! I am doing a research about how ADHD affects the experience of performing music. I am therefore looking for ADHD musicians to fill in a survey about their experiences of performing. Please take part or share if you can!

It costs money for GB News to pump hate into Britain's homes. Much of that money comes from Sky, which also makes much play of being a force for good. We've made it so easy for you to write and politely ask Sky's Chief Executive to stop funding hate. action.goodlawproject.org/sky-stop-fun...

Some people argue that asexuals should be excluded from LGBT+ spaces because they're straight-passing. They aren't. But even if they were, are you seriously suggesting it's fine for them to be forced into the closet their whole life?
Please share! Reminder that most questions are optional, so you can come and say as little or as much as you'd like, I just really want more Black voices in this research cos ace communities/research/representations are far too white, and that needs to change...
As Iβm nearing thesis submission, Iβm looking for postdoc research and/or teaching positions for the new year. My research interests are metaphor, corpus discourse analysis, health communication, and pregnancy discourse. Iβm also interested in disability and neurodivergence due to lived experience.
