For now the project is on hiatus, as I am actively listening and working on finding solutions for the harm I have caused. I'm so sorry again for my actions. I will update again when we have an official decision to share.
I apologize for the delay. I want to briefly update that things are currently quiet because I’m talking thoroughly with all the participating authors about opinions and future plans.
I guess my comment wasn’t clear enough so the timeline is getting confused. I sent the cover to the authors, they said it was good, so I posted it online, then the following day one of the authors came back to say more, so I texted the artist, then the post blew up here

I had to wake up before it was even 5am because I have an event for the whole day, so I won’t be able to answer anyone or monitor anything until like tomorrow.

this was a matter of me being ignorant, and not me being purposefully malicious. I genuinely was trying to be inclusive and didn't realize it could be so dysphoric, but I should have known better. I'm sorry that my ignorance caused harm, I would never want to trigger anyone on purpose.
I made an update under the original post but I just want to point out, I'm aware now that I made a mistake and I was being superficial when planning out the concept art, instead of carefully checking that the design was respectful and not causing harm.

I had a list a list of things I wanted to represent in the art and divided them up between the characters without thinking too deeply about it. I never wanted her to look like a caricature, but I should have been more attentive when planning this out.

The idea behind the concept was to celebrate every stage of being trans, especially pre-transition or just starting out. With the man it's easier to show, but for the woman it's not so easy, and I've seen trans women rock beards before so I didn't think beyond that.
It was already being talked about behind the scenes, but I realize now I should have made a public announcement as well
