Someone pointed out that it’s “Mashtoor City” and not “Strike at Karkand”. Still, it could be a plausible theory.
In June we celebrate Battlefield 2’s 20th anniversary, and it would make sense for DICE to remake one of the most popular maps in the franchise. And this could also be a reason to remake more maps from Battlefield 2, which are considered some the best maps. We shall see…
