As a Black Texan, I don’t want to talk about the Texas Democratic primary. I have a lot of thoughts about the political landscape here, but I don’t want to talk about it. Let me log off, since everyone, whether they live here or not, wants to talk about it. I’m angry.
But, right now, mostly all I can do is share. I hope that the mutual aid, GFMs, etc I have shared haven’t been scams. I hope everyone struggling right now gets some relief. I know personally I’m exhausted from my ends not meeting. I’m on the dregs of ___.
When I see mutual aid requests, GFMs, etc, I share; if I can, I give. I don’t look into whether it’s a scam, & maybe I should vet them, but as a disabled AuDHDer, I usually don’t have the spoons nor bandwidth to do it. Times are difficult now for many. I want to be able to do more.

I detest when drivers decide to talk on the phone my whole ride. I report it and any other issue I have to Uber.
But, to end, I’m so happy my driver this morning didn’t talk to me and dropped me at work, where I wanted to be dropped off. Great experience. (6/6)
One of my favorite Uber experiences was the young BM who asked me what I wanted to listen to. I said Mariah. I then disregarded my quiet ride to fan girl with him over Mariah & put him on to some tracks he didn’t know. Excellent ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/?)
Uber customers are not your friends. We are not your family who you are doing a favor for. We are paying for a service. If you don’t give the customer the ride experience they want, you shouldn’t expect a tip. (4/?)
I find some BM get offended at my request for a quiet ride. Once, when a BM driver initiated a conversation, I politely said I prefer a quiet ride, and he pulled over, and said I prefer you out of my car. Uber refunded me that ride and paid for my next ride. I was late to work that day. (3/?)
When I get to the vehicle, I give a salutation, give the pin, and I don’t want to talk beyond that. Many will disregard that quiet ride, & I ask do you want a tip or to talk to me. The BM will be quiet. The WM say they Uber to meet ppl, they’re lonely, yada, yada. (2/?)
In the Uber, on my way to work. & I am very pleased that the Black male driver has actually followed my ride preferences. Many do not. Because I am a public library worker, & my day is mostly public facing, I request a quiet ride. I don’t want to talk to you. (1/?)
