Let’s talk about belonging - R.I.S.E. Magazine Belonging is hugely important in school – students who feel they belong thrive mentally, socially and academically. Now, picture the students you work with

What do you think your students would say if you asked them whether they feel they belong? I explore belonging in my latest #RISEEduMag article and share data from the

So awesome to see a community-based-participatory approach to interoception research in practice. Major kudos to this team for publishing on patient priorities!

We run staff circles in our relational school to share how we're feeling, what we are thinking and what's going on for us. All staff meetings start with a check in and we are learning about and teaching interoception. It's pretty ace.

Anger and emotion regulation strategies: a meta-analysis - Scientific Reports Scientific Reports - Anger and emotion regulation strategies: a meta-analysis

How to deal with one's anger has long puzzled psychology. Suppressing it doesn't work. Seeing the situation in a different light and accepting it does.

Anger can also be productive, though. When it lets you remove obstacles and resist oppression. Just saying.

My cousin was called for jury service and was excited to play her part in the justice system. She’s just been told however that she cannot serve after all because the court has no lift and she cannot walk up stairs. This a good example of how disabled people are excluded from public life #Ableism

We got 'the call'. Excited to talk about the role of interoception in our relational and restorative practice and the impact it's having on emotional well-being. But also looking forward to Thursday!!

Emma is so, so correct here. I recently heard if the death if a child I taught just a couple of years ago. She wouldn't yet have chosen her GCSEs. Was each of her school days worth going in for? On its own terms not 'just' because of some exams she'd never take amor a job she'll never have?

At the uni refectory the catering manager said sales of chocolate/crisps had gone up and the hot meals down. They felt this was because hot meals had more calories despite being balanced and nutritious

Hell, I change my eating behaviour when faced with calories on a menu, I end up getting something I don’t really want because my first choice seems obscene. The effect on people with an ED is likely to be much greater. Which is why the Mad community has said all along that it’s a terrible idea

Spent a few hours at the local airfield having a hot chocolate with my 16yo and watching the planes and reliving some memories of doing this when she was little.
