New pub tick at the Royal Oak in Neston. Seems like a nice community pub and the Abbot was surprisingly good. Nice malty notes for a cold day.

A couple of sitting MPs follow me so I am resharing this because I think this is a pretty darn good idea and imagine if we had something similar in the uk that helped showcase our long, rich culture of beer and brewing.

This is exciting isn’t it. Art by David Bailey, foreword by Matty White, 50 new additions, out April 2nd. I imagine you might want a pre order link, eh?

Pubs are far more valuable to society than the tax they pay The UK government was forced into a tax U-turn, but what about other struggling businesses?

This is a familiar problem. Of course businesses will amend hours to match perceived demand and will accept private bookings, but the other side of the coin is that potential customers need to know what is going on. So many pubs could do more, both online and with a notice outside, to let us know!

My biggest gripe when trying to keep opening hours up to date on @beerguidelondon.bsky.social Either nothing listed on their website at all or different hours on website, Google maps, Instagram, twitter, etc.

You complain about lack of business but then make it impossible to know when to visit!

I need your help to stop more pubs closing The Government are trying to water down planning protections for pubs meaning more could be lost forever.Use CAMRA's quick template tool to ask your local MP to protect our pubs in the planning system...

Please ask your MP to help our precious pubs; they are put even more at risk by the proposed changes to Planning rules.
