It's a weird dichotomy to feel annoyed at a company for not keeping its same day delivery promise when it wasn't something you paid extra for, and same week delivery was pretty unheard of only 5 years ago

Yep, these are, at most generously, some lobbyist getting in the ear of a state lawmaker on behalf of some company who says they have the tech to detect this stuff. It won't work, but they managed to convince them that this was a smart idea
Also remember, more than one of the voices complaining against these bills (bills which I do not agree with, just so we're clear) have extremely vested interests - one of them I know has a thriving business selling 3D printed firearm accessories as one example.
I've seen even more people fearmongering about the proposed bills in various US states relating to regulating 3D printing. One small thing to keep in mind, this is a mid-term election year, so a lot of TOUGH ON CRIME, PROTECT THE KIDDIES rhetoric is going to be going on. I believe this is part of it
