I love this stuff - all the methods. I write to myself in a chatty way, either by hand or on a word doc, discussing (with myself!) what the problems are and what the solutions could be...yeah, nit sure I should be admitting this 🤣 #ukteenchat

This is a bit different to the times prize. I was asked if I'd like to chat about aging up the MC so it involved more discussion and going back to the drawing board - but couldn't quite believe it when my revision hit the mark. I got the email when I was in Italy and had spent day in Rome!

There’s definitely luck in publishing, so do what you can to meet it halfway–join a crit group, take courses, enter comps, read lots, try writing for different age groups. Livia actually started as a middle grade but I was able to revise and resubmit after chat with editor. #ukteenchat #liviainrome

In the middle. Planster? I spend a bit of time on a synopsis for the big picture and overall shape, but that's as detailed as it gets. Once I know what the character wants, what's in their way, and where to end up, I claw my way through a first draft. HATE first drafts! #ukteenchat #liviainrome
