The Book Bag: Poetic Voices – MarchΒ 2026 It's March already. Spring approaches with pace, clocks are changing this month and I fell like time is something we can't grasp both figuratively or metaphorically. As we slide gently into the (hopefully) warmer months, it's my pleasure to bring you another Poetic Voice. I first encountered this poet on social media and was startled at the beauty and elegance of language used in poems that always include multiple layers and deep emotional connection with readers. I feel very lucky to be able to share original work from this tremendously talented writer.

As we slip gently in to the (hopefully) warmer months, meteorological Spring begins today. The Book Bag: Poetic Voices also has a new featured poet and I feel lucky to be sharing original work from a tremendous talent...

Waste

He spent his life pleasing others,
spent his money pleasing others,

in the end, when only the ending mattered,
he spent his last day alone.

The Book Bag: Along The Home Roads by AndyΒ Perrin Welcome back to The Book Bag. I hope you’ve had a poetic week. This week, I joined my new team at work and was welcomed warmly by colleagues. It also meant I said farewell but I’m still within earshot of my previous team. They did gift me a lovely bottle of Hendrick’s Gin. Which I will savour! In allotment news, we’ve cleaned the greenhouse and have started some seedlings off at home and chitted some potatoes for first and second early crops. I dabbed with some watercolour and I'm happy my colour bending for sunset and sunrise is improving.

This week in The Book Bag, we try not to get tangled in spokes as we cycle Along The The Home Roads with Andy Perrin as we heal in nature and live with hope.

A real tonic of a book. And just what I needed this week.

Plus news, opps, shoutouts and of course the playlist, so settle down and take 5.

Yes I think we may have, I’ve attended a few. It’s the attendees who make it, I’m just lucky enough to facilitate great poets and people πŸ™

Thanks for booking and whoever recommended me is very kind. I hope you enjoy the experience. It’s a supportive space to share. You can always let me know your preference on the running order e.g in the middle, towards end etc. πŸ™

I love a kipper, I only eat Craster Kippers though (the best imo). In fact that’s tomorrows breakfast.

Don’t know if this is a controversial opinion or not but Boiled Egg and Soldiers is an overrated breakfast.
