A degree can be especially helpful to those living in the lower income brackets. The right education can still provide social mobility. In terms of increased earnings, there are few better investments β though not all degrees provide the same returns.
Reports that a college education is no longer worth it are greatly exaggerated. People with college degrees are more likely to be employed, earn more money, enjoy better health, and live longer. Even a single year of college provides benefits.
