author copies of LOVE THAT FOR US arrived and i got a bit emotional. my best friend and i wrote a poetry collection together! so proud of us.

i am not feeling powerful, i am not gaining any power, i am haunted by the fragility of all life
my power naps don’t feel like power naps. they feel like brief existential encounters with the void
don’t be too cool to be actually creative. that is, vulnerable and interesting in your own ways
i love writing, i sob,,, as i struggle with proper comma usage
talking about poetry with a group of young people full of imagination and compassion gives me so much joy. and hope.
taught a generative class on zoom recently & i was so moved by the discussion, by everyone’s participation & care. i love reading poems, talking about poems, witnessing how we open up because of poetry. because we let ourselves get vulnerable. & let our minds do surprising things
due to personal reasons, i love a baked potato
oh it’s really still winter 😅
also my birthday is kinda soon 👀
why is awp so soon now
sooo important to slurp your noodles
trying to finish writing 2 books this year—one prose and one poetry—wish me luck!
while i’m sad my zodiac year is over (year of the snake), i’m excited for what this year might bring. fire horse!! i want to write with more fire. love more fiercely. and be more flaming mhm mhmm
i’m standing outside & wearing black glasses, a black coat with a checkered pattern on one side, a red shirt with a horse on it, black jeans, & black boots. i’m also carrying a small black leather bag
happy lunar new year / year of the fire horse
🔥🐎🔥
someone being patient with you, even when you don't "deserve" it or don't think you do, is so sweet. someone taking care, real care with their words, including during conflict, is the most romantic thing.
i am in possession of a very active and very homosexual imagination
There was something in the way he asked / that sounded like he was talking about the past
📸 + ♥️: jeff (impossible as it seems, i love you even more than i love soup dumplings)
i’m enjoying soup dumplings at a restaurant with dimsum and conveyor belt sushi. i’m wearing black glasses and a light blue sweater with white/red sailboat pattern
in my favorite sweater for valentine’s soup dumplings
no more AI "art." i want art made by people because i want to know how people think, feel, live. how a day on this earth is for someone else. a night. and why the heart, though so heavy, still wants to dance. i want art that looks into this mystery. art that connects me to another person who wonders
i love it when people care. about words, about meaning, about each other, about what we mean to one another, about the world we’re making—or could make
i love love. and speed skater butt
omg I am ALWAYS here for new poems by Chen Chen 🤩
And if you like poetry, please read his collection <Your Emergency Contact Has Experienced an Emergency> (which remains one of my favorite titles tbh).
