Local governments across New York have signed fourteen(!!) 287g mass deportation agreements with ICE that involve this “training”, with others pending. In Nassau County - where Santos died, the 287g agreement has led to THREE THOUSAND DEPORTATIONS.
How can you give “free range” for local police and sheriffs to receive “training” from ICE on “Multicultural communication” and “Avoiding racial profiling” (!!!) when ICE has created chaos and violence across the U.S.-especially towards Black and brown folks?

Giving “free range” for local police and sheriffs to collude with ICE to abduct our neighbors led to the tragic death of Santos Banegas, a father of two, in Nassau County last year. Santos died in Nassau County jail as a direct result of the county’s involvement in the 287g mass deportation program.
