I would be down! Would love to chat about Retrograde and how analog printmaking fits in the indie RPG world
Yβall are not going to believe this, but this became invalid a mere hour after posting and it was no longer 26 hours. Apparently time keeps marching, and death is inescapable?
On that cheerful note, 9 hours left!
if you want a print of this, subscribe to my patreon and I'll send them out this week. yippee!

Ephemeris goes to print this week.
I'm thinking about the way print seals moments in time, and the beautiful unpredictability of analog art. Every day in the print shop is an experiment, and it's a thrill seeing this one take shape.

Thank you!!
A spread from Ephemeris, a retrofuturist vampire hunting TTRPG, outlining the stats and cosmic horror of the Bood Comet, an eldritch entity bound on devouring the stars themselves.
Layout is taking shape, piece by piece.
Almost there.
I'm in the final stretch of editing and layout for Ephemeris before taking it to print next week!
The last push has ticking clocks fresh on my mind, and this week I wrote about how I use ticking clocks in Ephemeris to heighten tension and add momentum to play

𧡠My Manifesto on Art:
Make difficult art.
Don't assume your audience is dumb, or lazy, or unengaged.
Make art that needs to be engaged with multiple times. Make art that takes work to engage with. Make art that's confusing.
Assume your audience is smart, diligent, and motivated.
A black, white and gold ex-libris sticker illustration. It shows a symmetrical filigree scrollwork enclosing a starry night sky with an ink bottle and a gold quill.
Currently working on an ornate bookplate and cover border commissions so have this fitting throwback to an ex-libris illustration for @montfordtales.com β¨
I've got my eye on KRAVAT and super excited to see where this project goes β the vibes and the book look absolutely killer.

This week I was back in the letterpress shop for the first time in months and printed the first short story from The Tower of Dreams on risograph. It's wonderful to find the joys of physical creation again.

In case you missed it! We're steadily approaching the 2nd goal.
carrying massive books about robots like a baby
fantasy drawing burning skull banner on mountain top
knight slaying serpent
knight with flail and shield approaches tower ruin
castle on a cliff
recent drawings that went to my patrons.
Truly! I really don't know of any other form that can comprise so many different dimensions of interactivity β wild and magical stuff for sure
Analog art in general feels like a transmutation of the abstract into the physical. Combine that with the interpretative discovery the players and GM find at the table, RPGs are just this magical alchemy where you breathe life into something that once was just ideas and images.
I'm constantly negotiating the interdisciplinary nature of making RPGs β pulling myself in so many different directions can be a lot, but I love how it scratches so many different creative itches.
It's most rewarding for me at the point of physicalizing β seeing the book take shape.
Rolling out a new monthly newsletter on blog!
This week I talk updates on Ephemeris, my occult vampire hunting RPG, plus new structures and intentions for the print club and a new bookbinding-story game on the horizon. Cheers!
