🔎 We examined how religious sexual minorities navigate potentially conflicting identities, and how risk factors (perceived rejection from in-groups, discrimination) and protective factors (in-group identification, social support) jointly shape identity integration and well-being.

📊 Results showed that identity affirmation interventions (vs. control) and identity integration increased well-being.
However, we found little evidence that dual-identity affirmation was more effective than single-identity affirmation.

🔍 We examined whether affirming a dual identity provides additional benefits compared to affirming a single identity.
With a sample of 401 LGB-religious individuals, we tested the effects of dual- vs. single-identity affirmation interventions on well-being and collective action intentions.

Paul Bertin and Kenzo Nera propose that novelty, consistency and transparency can be conceptualized as a trilemma.
