Thanks to everyone who came along to our gigs in Settle last night and Helmsley the night before. I’m solo at Saltburn Community Theatre next Friday and then joined by The Bad Pennies again next Saturday at The Witham in Barnard Castle. Thanks to John for the colourful pic!

A fine time at Hitchin folk club last night - thanks everybody who came along and to Highworth the night before. Tomorrow night (Tuesday) at Tigerfolk near Loughborough is sold out.

Solo in Highworth near Swindon tonight, a place where I first played for a lovely man called Bill Bailey, years ago. Tonight I’m at The United Reform Church. 7.30.

The late Joe Ely at Calgary Folk Festival about ten years ago. We did a workshop together, then talked for ages about Texas, County Durham and how much we both loved Canada. I look star-struck. I was!

Thanks to everyone for supporting me in 2025. Thanks too for helping make my album “Oubliette” such a success. Looking forward to 2026, with solo gigs, Bad Pennies gigs, a tour with The Pitmen Poets, a trip to Canada with Keelo and the publication of novel no.5! And better times for us all.

Our last gig of the year, Gateshead Glasshouse, was a great way to end 2025. Seasons greetings everybody, and see you on January 8th at The Black Swan in York.

Last solo gig of the year for me (before the Bad Pennies tour begins) is at The Bird in Hand in Stafford this coming Friday December 5th.
