At Envision Freedom Fund, our commitment to free as many people as we can continues. Nothing changes; what we need is to #AbolishICE.
Under Noemβs leadership, courts have ruled ICE unlawfully detained people over 4,400 times since October 2025. Her tenure was marked by the shooting and deaths of Alex Pretti, Renee Good & countless reports of abuse + wrongful detention in NY during the administrationβs anti-immigrant crackdown.
Under Noemβs leadership, DHS oversaw an escalating campaign of detention, raids, & dehumanizing rhetoric that treated immigrants as political targets rather than human beings. At least 10 people have died in ICE custody so far this year. This follows a record-high 32 deaths in 2025.
Her disastrous testimony before Congress y-day only confirmed what immigrant communities already knew: this adminβs policies have prioritized cruelty over accountability. When questioned by NY Rep. Nadler concerning Shah Alamβs death, she to commit to investigating the death.
DHS Secretary Kristi Noemβs tenure was marked by tragic consequences.
With the appointment of Oklahoma Republican Senator Markwayne Mullin, a committed MAGA loyalist as Noemβs replacement, we can expect the same cruel and inhumane policies Noem pushed forward β if not worse.
Federal Agents abandoned Nurul
Amin Shah Alam, a nearly blind 56-yr-old Rohingya refugee, miles from home before he later died. At today's House Judiciary Committee hearing, Secretary Noem refused to commit to working w/ local authorities investigating Shah Alam's death.

We cannot let the anniversary of an agency built on fear and control pass without holding it accountable. Freedom should never be a privilege, it should be a right. Support our fight to end detention. Take Action Here: nydignitynotdetention.org/take-action/
Families are separated. People are left in squalid conditions. Rights are ignored. DHS calls this βsecurity.β We call it inhumane.
At least 32 people died in ICE custody in 2025 β the deadliest year in decades. In 2026, 8 people have died in immigration custody since January 1.
Since its founding, ICE and DHS facilities have been sites of systemic abuse.
Medical neglect, solitary confinement, and inadequate care have cost lives.
π¨The Department of Homeland Security celebrates 23 years of its existence this week. But for the more than 68,000 people held in its detention centers, there is nothing to celebrate.
And the work continues β we have 5 pending bonds weβre paying on Monday, totaling $83,500 and counting. Every contribution helps bring someone home.
10 people freed from ICE this week! β With $109,300 in bonds paid, ten people are now back with their loved ones and communities. #FreeThemAll #DignityNotDetention #AbolishICE #ICEOut
Thank you for supporting our work! βπ
Envision Freedom Fund urges the New York State Legislature to urgently pass the #DignityNotDetention Act (S316 Salazar / A4181 Reyes) and end the stateβs complicity in immigration detention once and for all.
Already in 2026, Envision has secured the release of 55 immigrants in detention across New York through immigration bonds, disbursing over $592,000 to ICE β a 188% increase in the number of people weβve bonded out compared to this time last year.
On any given night, 100s of immigrant NYers are detained in county jails & prisons across the state under contracts with ICE, with facilities like the Buffalo Processing Center, Orange County Jail, Elizabeth Facility and Delaney Hall currently averaging more than 2,000 ppl daily.
The size of the facility at 29 Elizabeth Drive in the Village of Chester, in Orange County, is roughly equivalent to about 27 football fields, which means more space to detain hundreds of more immigrants in New York.
People bonded out by @EnvFreeFund have more than 3x the chance of being allowed to remain in the U.S. But that doesn't mean they don't face challenges like financial insecurity, chronic health issues & legal uncertainty. Support our work: envisionfreedom.org/donate
Our resistance must continue to be as relentless as ICE's cruelty. Help us free people from from detention today while we also organize to end detention for good: envisionfreedom.org/donate

π¨ ICE delays are getting worse. What used to take 6β8 hours to post bond online and free someone from detention can now take 3 daysβor longer. "Limited personnel?" The cruelty is the point. #AbolishICE #EndDetention
π¨NEW: Local jails & police departments are playing a key role in Trumpβs mass arrest & deportation agenda
The actual scope of this collaboration β and the true scale of immigrant arrests and detentions β has not been publicly available, until now π§΅
