We've been waiting YEARS for a single new bus lane. They aren't expensive, they just need signs and paint, and they could be delivered in a matter of days if they were a priority.
Disappointed but not surprised to see that the 2023 bus priority motion from @sarahkirbyyung.bsky.social has been scaled back and the 2024 bus priority motion from @christineboyle.bsky.social has been postponed.

West 49th could use space reallocation to accommodate active transpo or bus lanes. It's 4 lanes wide, of which only 2 are usable because of an occasional parked car.

The City of Vancouver has just announced all day bus lanes on 49th Ave. Movement strongly supports this as the push for bus lanes on 49th was Movement’s first campaign back in 2023, and we’re excited to see results. The question is: Why only Cambie to Fraser?
The City proposed curb side bus lanes here. We’re open to other configurations, including ones that retain some parking and widen sidewalks in exchange for general purpose lanes. This could be centre running or offset bus lanes. Transit signals would allow a bus lane to make a turn like with R2 ext.
