1. He turned 22 in October, making him the youngest player on the 49ers' 53-man roster.
2. He spent his first two seasons in a West Coast offense that uses zone running, which is what the 49ers run.

Something to keep in mind with Brock Purdy: He hurt his ribs in his first-ever start in 2022. He didn’t practice at all — zero throws — before the next game, on Thursday in Seattle, but still started and played very well. And that was when he was still best known as Mr. Irrelevant.
