Vegan/vegetarian/allergy substitutes have existed for decades. If you’re cooking for someone with a lactose intolerance you shouldn’t have to go to the “oat liquid” section. It should just be with milk. The idea that people are “mislead” is PR from an industry trying to harm their competitors.

Actually that’s the other part - any time I’ve gotten what I “wanted” it’s turned out to not be fulfilling and Ive had to challenge my views on what i want in my life.
I think I’ve just accepted that each decade is going to be *different* and shit’s just gonna *happen* whether I like it or not.
So while I also stress about the bigger picture at times, I’m trying to just live a happy life in the now as much as possible 🤷♂️
Because ultimately within a few simple questions you inevitably discover that ChatGPT continues to lie to them and their overconfidence has led them to stop questioning it.
You know those people who say “I’ve trained my dog so well. I’m really strict and don’t let him boss me” and then you *see them* and the dog is absolutely running circles around them and definitely in control?
That’s what I see whenever someone says “I’ve mastered ChatGPT. It doesn’t lie to *me* 😌”
Next time you open an app or login to a service you won’t be able to un-see it.
Every User Interface is the digital equivalent of your middle manager staring over your shoulder and interrupting you to ensure you do it “their way”.
The leaders of big tech are insecure middle managers with too much time on their hands and no one around to tell them no.
So they pop in and interrupt. Their colleagues are always wrong. Their customers are always wrong.
They know best and desperately defend their existence.
It *just* dawned on me. Big tech has turned middle manager micromanagement culture into their core design philosophy.

The UK Supreme Court last month ruled that Swedish company Oatly could no longer trademark or use the phrase "post milk generation" on its products following a lengthy legal battle by Dairy UK. Australian Dairy Farmers president Ben Bennett wants the federal government to follow suit with mandatory rules, saying milk should come from an animal and not a marketing department.
This must be one of the stupidest current culture wars along with claims that people are “confused” if meat substitutes are sold anywhere near the real meat versions.
It’s not about consumer rights. It’s not about the “ethics” of labelling.
It’s pure culture war.
