I kinda like Bluesky as an echo chamber. It encourages nuanced discourse with people I generally agree with.
I already have spaces to argue and debate with people I emphatically disagree with. And these people aren't trolls, they're reasonable, level-headed folks with different stances.
As an elder Gen Z, I'd be ecstatic to make 80k. I'd feel so secure.
Right now we're living on ~40 as a household, and it's tight but workable.
The statistic reported here must be the average of a broad range of responses. But I actually don't understand your explanation. Could you unpack it a bit?
I can't actually find a source stating he wants to do this?
I'm not trolling, just researching.
I did find a line in Project 2025 that calls for moving admin and oversight for Title I to HHS. I just can't find a real source on elimination.
Unless you meant reduction cuts? Just realizing this.
I'm not familiar with Turner, but he seems like a reasonable pick.
I'm curious what role he'll play when facing some of Trump's more aggressive HUD policies.
The story did a fantastic job of establishing several plot threads, allowing them to fray and fade, then smoothly and sharply tying them all back together by the end.
I actually enjoyed it even more than Wandavision!

Did he tell you to take your shoes off?? This part is critical
I'm trying to learn more about political journalism, so I would really appreciate an occasional professional perspective!
That's actually the only good song ever written so hell yeah
Proud of myself for curbing my contrarian streak online. Now I just need to do the same in the real world lol.
A keen eye for hyperbole, generalization, and other misleads is a great thing! But often, it's best that I keep the observation to myself.
I agree! Whatever happens with this bill will set the precedent for similar instances nationwide. This is a huge moment, and it's a moment we could lose if the "distraction" rhetoric keeps up.
Moreover, it could very well define the "future of the Democratic party" everyone's been debating.

I stared at this in stunned silence for a few seconds today
Reposting once more.
If anyone has any opinions or alternatives to offer, I'd love to hear about them!
Man idk I've been approached by Entrepreneursβ’ with Opportunitiesβ’ like 3 separate times while browsing at B&N. I guess I just look griftable or something
Hey look it's me!
I'm nobody, but
I can't stand Kirk β he's a pseudo-intellectual grifter who wouldn't know a good-faith argument if it socked him in the jaw. But attacking your opponent's appearance sucks too.
A tongue-in-cheek "I don't wanna be mean" doesn't absolve one of accountability.
This is punching down.
My dad had a copy of this while I was growing up! I used to read it all the time.
Supposedly this manual is somewhat outdated now, but I still think it serves its purpose.
I want to note here that I'm aware of the privileged tone of "Not really into..."
It isn't meant to be dismissive of the very real concerns people have.
That's just how I talk, and I'm trying to be authentic.
Bear with me.
Accurate reporting and rational analysis are important to me.
But we live in an unfortunate era where every attempt at balanced journalism must dance a fine line between sensationalizing the unremarkable, and normalizing the unacceptable.
I'd love to hear contrasting thoughts on this.
Does a perceived loss of control make us prone to panic? Does it make us vulnerable to misinformation?
At our lowest, are we more susceptible to confirmation bias?
And if so, is there an objective rubric that can be applied to incoming information?
Not really into the doom and gloom that seems to have subdued progressive spaces post-election.
That's not to criticize the human response; rather, I wonder whether said response is informed by the same brand of rhetoric that we mock others for buying into.
I'm not sure. Just thinking.
I've never been sure what to put in a bio.
I want to present myself as a real person, but I also prefer some degree of anonymity.
I have no accolades to speak of.
I haven't figured out whether any political/spiritual/social labels really fit me.
But
So it *clicked* in my mind today that "Department of Government Efficiency" acronymizes down to DoGE and that might be the final straw
+1
Looks like I already did haha, who was it?
This was actually my red flag issue!
If anyone, all the way downballot, indicated doubt in election integrity or seemed over-invested in "enhancing election security", they were struck from my options.
There's no reason to have democratic institutions if we undermine them over a temper tantrum.
I'd like to start publishing some of my political thoughts and analysis in an article format, but I'm not sure what platform is the best fit.
Medium? WordPress? Substack?
If you see this and know the landscape, I'd appreciate any input. The only resource I can afford to allocate is my time.

I'll try that, thank you!
Shh don't jinx it
