Donald Trump's tariffs are forcing prices to rise.
Here's what we learned today:
John Deere announced layoffs. PepsiCo will increase prices by 10%. Sony is raising PS5 prices in the U.S. by $50 across all models. Electric bills are up 10% so far this year.
Today marks three years since President Biden signed the Inflation Reduction Act.
The law cut health insurance premiums, lowered prescription drug costs, boosted manufacturing and clean energy jobs, and helped make sure corporations and wealthy tax cheats paid their fair share.
US BUDGET DEFICIT SOARS
The deficit jumped 19% to $291B in July. This is despite $21B collected from Americans due to higher import taxes, which led to higher costs on goods like furniture, footwear, and auto parts.
The deficit for 2025 is already $1.63 trillion, up 7% from the last year.
Pritzker: "It's cheating. Donald Trump is a cheater. He cheats on his wives. He cheats at golf. And now he's trying to cheat the American people out of their votes."
