Go blue this is one of the best ways to make it happen if you’re this administration. I can’t stress to you enough how much this is universally going to piss off people in south texas.

We have always been at war with eastasia
Someone is going to write a feature piece in, like, the New Yorker or something titled "Inside an American Concentration Camp" and everyone will get shocked *then* at what's happening *now*
The US has long been a lawless actor that threw its weight around as it saw fit, but as its empire declines it’s making sure to lash out and use the military it’s sacrificed so much domestic quality of life to maintain to wreak utter havoc on so many parts of the world.
REMINDER: Every explosion in Iran not only kills and terrorizes ordinary people, it also directly steals money from the American people.
Instead of funding education, healthcare or economic transition Trump is spending billions of our tax dollars on an illegal war of choice. It's cruel and stupid.
I just don't understand how anyone thinks that inflicting suffering and pain on another nation of people will make us more safe. Its like we have not learned any fucking lessons from our decades of action in the region and all the unintended consequences we have delt with. I'm so tired of this shit.
Don’t ever let anyone tell you that banks and rich people are smarter than you. They showed us in 2008 they are full of shit and they’ve done it again with ai. We’re all going to pay the price, again.
They should try offer a sub two dollar hot dog and drink combo along with their magazine!
We have had several elderly dems die in office during this congress. That means vacant sears for many important votes in a very tight congress. Pers over 65 are vastly over represented in congress. Let other people lead! The hubris that only you are capable! This is such a frustrating article.
If you don’t understand why the talk is happening and why people want it then you are probably a part of the problem the generational change is needed to solve. YALL LOST TO TRUMP AFTER AN INSURRECTION! You don’t get to keep holding us hostage!
She is answering questions like she is still employed by DHS
Sorry boss, I can't work, I'm watching Kristi Noem do a press conference and she doesn't know she's been shitcanned
I don't know if Paxton underperformed or not. We had hardly any polling and GOP turnout was garbage so what polling we did have was hard to weight correctly to the electorate. Combine our lack of good info with uncertainty of what happens before Nov I find it hard to really feel good/bad yet.
National Democrats will sidelines Texas Dems, fail to help out the border areas, and generally make no efforts with Latinos along the Texas border than cry when they don't fall in line and vote against Trump. How about you make an effort first and then ask why they didn't vote for you?
Wanting to abandon Texas Democrats monetarily is one of the dumbest things I read on here. It isn't just the Senate race that matters. You've got downstream congressional races that are close, and you should be trying to build out the infrastructure for Dems at state and local levels too.
Here is my two cents on the Texas Senate race.
Accounting for:
- Economy
- Unpopular War
- Higher Gas Prices
- Immigration Backlash
The blue flood might be big enough where it won't matter whether its Cornyn or Paxton by November. It will be more like 1974 and less like 2018.
Perfectly reasonable to say Talarico's chances are lower against Cornyn but he is an underdog regardless and definitely not an impossible matchup against either candidate.
I'm not arguing that Cornyn isn't an obvious favorite in the matchup but even if on a baseline he's +9 over a generic Dem, Talarico may be better than a generic Dem and we have a seriously negative environment for all GOP right now. Plus we don't know Cornyn will win! Trump endorsements not perfect
Not that I agree about the 9 points mark, but is that somehow out of reach? Its right in line with what we've seen out of Democrats for over a year at this point. Being a "bog-standard" Republican is been a pretty bad thing for candidates in elections over the past year.
After a childhood in the Catholic Church I am not a practicing Christian but it is always striking to me how poorly these people understand Jesus.
A real bummer but its probably not going to happen in NC4. There are great results tonight, but this is definitely a disappointment. We need results like this to change the make up of Congress.
Listen the Dallas county situation is bullshit along the lines TX always pulls causing vote chaos but the campaigns knew about this for MONTHS. How do you not prepare your constituents on where to vote? Its GOTV 101!!!! Its a big self own if you need Dallas county to win.
Allam keeps making up ground! Lets go!
NC 4 a bit closer now. Hoping some good areas in Durham left!
Wow: In the early vote, it's a blow-out *so far*.
Rodney Sadler, the progessive pastor and activist, leads state Representative Carla Cunningham 75% to 18%.
(Stay tuned as we see how the Election Day vote compares, but that's an ominous start for the incumbent.)
Context:
North Carolina primary votes are through the roof on the Dem side
NC 4 update:
Oh: we just got the first populous county away from the Dallas-Fort Worth area: Williamson County. And Talarico won the early vote 72% to 27% here.
Cornyn, again with a strong performance here.
It's a question of understanding how to reach people where they are at. Maybe people are not talking about degrees celsius, GHG, emissions, etc. But, it is not far from, "I hate my utility and my bills are high," to, "more renewables and different ownership structures would be good for me."
No, they are both running for Senate. Crockett decide not to run for the House this time and instead tossed her name into the Senate race after Talarico was already in the race for awhile. Her seat was redistricted in the new map. I think both are capable candidates!
