In a couple of months, make sure to check out the Mereway woodland in the Crane valley. We planted 500 bulbs last Sunday during our Volunteer Sunday - 100 each of Wild garlic; Wood Anemone; Native bluebells; Spring Crocus; Wild daffodils. It's going to look great!

Our ditch digging volunteers were working on the Hospital Bridge Road reed bed again on Sunday – helping to build a ditch and mound system as water vole habitat. We will back there with @tcvnational.bsky.social on tomorrow (Wednesday 12th February) and all are welcome to join us

Love this blog post. We totally agree that imagination and story telling are critical to reminding people (particularly in London) that we are surrounded by the wonders of nature. Our green spaces and rivers are there to be enjoyed and protected.

We still have a few places left for our Volunteer Day this Sunday. We will be creating new water vole habitat as well as enhancing the existing wetland scrapes and marginal wetland areas – fun and muddy work so old clothes and wellies recommended. Please register using the link in the comments.

Great to see this underwater clip - large shoals of minnows, young dace and roach from the Tidal Crane next to Northcote Nature Reserve. Investigations led by NNR’s Astronaut Kawada with Friends of NNR, FORCE and ZSL revealing the importance of the Tidal Crane as a fish habitat.
