Apparently google just lied when they said they were rolling back the ID requirement for side-loading apps onto your own device? keepandroidopen.org
"The opposite of faith isn't doubt. Doubt is a healthy part of any any faith. The opposite of faith is control. When we stop trusting God, and we stop trusting love, we start taking control ourselves." - James Talarico
that makes me so uncomfortable
I was shocked that when I went to Home Depot two weeks back, and complained about the flock cameras in the parking lot they "didn't know" that it was corporate that put them there. I urge people to complain to both Lowes and Home Depot demanding the removal of the Flock cameras.
There was a CBS News post on Facebook, about Trump releasing UAP files. The top comment ratioed (had more likes than) the original post "We want the Epstein files, not the X-Files"
The comment has since been removed and I didn't think to screenshot it.
Very happy to announce the winners of our demoscene competition! 🏆

Thomas Massie is a republican. Please think about this exchange.
Why does all the reporting about Discord's age verification only ask about the raw images, instead of all the metadata surrounding the images? I.e. the fingerprint for your face or ID.
I finally found the button that makes gmail stop sucking from all the AI slop they are trying to get me to generate in the "auto replies" and useless summaries.
Take me down to the Parallax city where the far moves slow and the near moves quickly
This week, we tested out vehicles!
We held a team scavenger hunt, which was a lot of fun.
thankyou ->
@aaronfranke.dev, for the vehicle's logic
@cnlohr.bsky.social for cilbox
@maebbie.bsky.social for putting together the video below
Basis is a framework, MIT-licensed, built on top of Unity
Please wait patiently for the failure of the system.
Something I don't think any tech ceo can comprehend is that there are people who prefer to code without autocomplete.
How do you sell a product to people who can just do the thing they are trying to do?
That is the first thing _I_ would think of if someone tried boxing me in. That is the only first-hand experience I have with this sort of thing. That woman did exactly the right thing at that time. And if she didn't who knows what would have happened.
About 10 years ago, I witnessed an attempted kidnapping, where people in vague authority-looking garb tried to square in a woman and her daughter in a car, and she floored it, hit their car, escaped, the people got back in their car and chased after her. They were not officials.
No idea from me.
It's clang, UB is not going to be stopped by -Wpedantic!
Behold a square meme.
Clang developers when they detect undefined behaviour in your application.
You guys know dang well what my code meant, I did not give you permission to format my hard drive full of rickrolls.
Will you press the button meme: RAM and storage prices return to normal BUT AI gets deleted forever

Non-AI Notice on github repository, prohibiting adding code to the repo without attestation that it was not written with the aid of AI.
Trying a new thing to see how it goes.
We can do even more.
"All robots & computers must shut the hell up" meme
This meme was funny for a while, but, at this point, I sort of feel like getting text shoved at me written by computers makes me viscerally upset. Like somehow, the meme went from jk jk to no, wait, I actually feel this way.
Too many things. Too many things.
It may have taken 20 years, but, I have been burned one too many times
I wished someone showed me this about I2C before. During any kind of data transfer, the SDA line should never change while the SCL line is high, only when it's low. So, it changing when it's high is a "Start" or "Stop" condition. You do not have to pair "Start" and "Stop"
I finally have released my 'cnrbtree' that I've been using for years. It gives you stl::map-like functionality, in C, in a fully templated way, geared for speed and user-simplicity. github.com/cnlohr/cnrbt...
printf( "%s\n", RBA( tree, "key" ) );
