All of this going down during the 250th anniversary year of America is a degree of cringey writing that would be roundly mocked were it a novel published in an alternative timeline.

Wasnβt Jones part of Littleβs campaign?!
He wonβt. He canβt. Or he will likely die from old age before then. Itβs a distraction Bannon has created by talking about it. The real threat is the VP running & winning.
Wellington voters donβt think bicycle lanes are bad for the city. If they did our councillors would look different
The best news!
The new Wellington City Council will include 5 Labour councillors and 4 Green councillors, plus Andrew Little, giving the two party "coalition" an increased governing majority - 10 out of 16 votes, compared to 8 under the previous council.
Youβre paying attention!
Federal agents detain a protester. The agents wear green and brown uniforms and helmets. Two people, not in uniforms, look on. A headline reads: "Protesters and Federal Agents Clash Outside ICE Detention Facility Near Chicago.β Photo credit: Jim Vondruska/ Reuters.
Dozens of protesters clashed with federal agents outside a federal immigration facility in suburban Chicago on Friday. During the standoff, ICE deployed tear gas and pepper balls at the demonstrators, which included several local officials. nyti.ms/3VVN2Wn
The ACIP vote was tied 6-6 for requiring everyone to get a prescription for the COVID19 vaccine.
The chair broke the tie by voting NO.
Prescriptions will NOT be required.
You were strong, factual, humble, authentic. The exact opposite of them. I am proud of you, e hoa. Kia kaha.
A couple of people have shared a disgusting post Better Wellington have made about me today. Three things: I will never attack my colleagues or anyone like they do, I am sad that others think itβs ok, and I have no intention of backing down on my work for the city and our people
This behaviour has lingered throughout council all term. I hope people can see why it seemed so chaotic at times. We werenβt dealing with decent people.
it's really interesting that what ray chung and co did to Tory Whanau has not been described in the media as sexual harassment, which it was
π canβt wait to try it!
The "woke toilets"/"fancy toilets" that National and the PM are going on about lately are in response to the new, fully accessible, bathrooms opened in Wellington.
Fully accessible toilets & changing places are expensive, yes.
They are also a basic human right.

4th case of #measles here in the Wairarapa. Check your immunity folks and if necessary (of if unsure) perhaps think about getting a jab. (they are free to most people).
Our regional council has already approved fare capping, integrated ticketing and debit card payment - this isnβt new PT policy. Itβs just that weβre at the behest of the govts national ticketing system. Wellington deserves what Auckland PT users already have. We shouldnβt have to wait longer
Screen shot from GWRC press release in May 2024: Greater Wellington councillors also agreed today to introduce journey based daily and weekly fare caps when the NTS is implemented in the region. "Fare capping makes public transport more attractive by effectively offering free travel after you've taken a set number of daily or weekly journeys. It's a great way to encourage public transport use and has proven very successful and popular in lots of other cities and regions," Cr Nash says. Metlink Explorer Day passes and 30-Day passes will be replaced by fare capping, giving similar discounts to all passengers not just those who can afford passes."
Hereβs what I said about fare capping when the Regional Council agreed to it over a year ago in May 2024. It is all still true! But the delays have become intolerable. Thatβs where the focus needs to be: delivery. Needs to be fare capping together with debit card payment and integrated fares. 3/
Bus lanes keep costs down: faster bus trips mean more frequency for the same cost. Wellington has doubled bus priority measures this term and all candidates need to commit to finishing the job with the Golden Mile, Harbour Quays and route 2 to the eastern suburbs without any further delays. 2/
Very good to have more support for the Regional Councilβs existing policy on fare capping. If central governmentβs ticketing project is delayed any further we should look to deliver this in Wellington now, as Auckland has already done. For now we need the city council to finish the bus lanes job. 1/
Children now ride on these cycleways. What kind of person do you have to be to cause such nuisance, but also danger to kids who may be riding in cargo bikes. Itβs disgraceful and Iβm so thankful to our resilient cycle community who keep going despite the hateful few. @patrickmorgan.bsky.social
Voters deserve to know if Ray Chung is standing on behalf of Inflection Point and Resistance Kiwi - so far heβs refused to rule it out or disclose who his major donor is. I support a city that unites us, and Iβm not afraid to be transparent about it www.thepost.co.nz/nz-news/3606...
In great news, last week council approved funding to establish a public park at MΔtai Moana/Mt Crawford on the Miramar Peninsula. A couple of bureaucratic hurdles still to be jumped, but weβre on our way to building on the communityβs work to rid the area of pests and creating a second Zealandia!
