Loved your post and your writing in general. Made me a bit sad too, I hadn't thought as deeply through what should be possible. Thank you.

I had viscacha.com (the South American very fluffy rabbit looking thing) for some time but for some reason was in a chaotic period of life and it lapsed. Still regret that!
Thereβs a lot to be said for making space in your head by cutting off the stimulus of news, notifications and such. It is the only way I can handle the flood of shit, and I am not in the US.
The post, in his first term, was where I went for sanity. Guess the onion is my port of call this term π€·
Not all opinions have the same veracity. It isnβt being scared at all, it is a question of whether anything is made better by considering badly thought-through opinions expressed by people who are busy making the world worse.
I like my opposing opinions to not be a gish-gallop of disingenuous bullshit, so unfortunately he doesnβt make the cut π
Would love if Bluesky had a βsave skeetβ functionality, to enable me to save in to any of my own lists.
I would have a place to put everything Iβd like to remember, built in to the app.
Guess nothing is stopping me from checking out the repo but I imagine thereβs a learning curve π
Itβs a relief isnβt it π
Hey! My understanding is the list is actively maintained by volunteers in Bluesky right now and are dynamic, not a snapshot (i.e. you block new additions automatically). However I am not an expert. More info and additional blocklists are at bsky.app/profile/skyw...
Hereβs a MAGA block list bsky.app/profile/did:...
Nice! Thanks will keep my eye open myself and pass anything along if it is interesting enough π
Sorry to derail, any good pointers for Buddhist bluesky?
I think it is also important to pay attention to the growing conservative media apparatus such as GBNews. This has what has got a large segment of the population of the US believing in an alternate reality
Itβs important when this kind of stuff happens to stay locked in the present. Worries about the future tenses us up and causes us harm, and while habitual and easy to slide into, does not help us act and think clearly. What can you control and do right now? It is hard to stay in the now. Practice!
A screenshot from the movie In Bruges. Colin Farrell (labeled βAmericaβ) is holding a gun (labeled βAmericansβ) to his own head, as behind him began Gleeson (labeled βAmericaβ) is aiming a gun (labeled βAmericansβ) at Collin Farrellβs head as well.
Not in the states but part anxiety, and part uncomprehending outrage that it should be close and there are so many that are making it closeβ¦
It will be great if you are right. I am trying to mentally price in a Trump victory; it is very uncomfortable to try!
Thereβs an effect of political upheaval on my mind, in that it takes up space I could use for something else. The distraction/tension.
The prospect of millions potentially losing that mental space for the next four years is sad. We can at least observe it closely in action to counteract.
Looks great, I could imagine using that for a current project. Good work π
It is beginning to feel like escape velocity has been reached on this platform - mega satisfying to move over :)
