Why are we even focusing on the distraction of whether or not he will actually donate it to charity? That's irrelevant. It's not his to donate. This is our money, and the president cannot just decide to award it to himself.

This is an important watch. If youβre from Louisiana you should already know this and why you should be mad as hell about whatβs happening.

They were. Definitely answered a lot of questions (for me, at least) on why things happened the way they did with the Justice Dept. A bit concerning that there are so many people afraid to do what they know is right, but also hope that there are also those trying to figure out how to fix it.
This was a very informative interview. Definitely worth the watch.
They need to move the auditors aside and let the forensic accountants get to work.
A great deep dive on Ralph Abraham's background from Lamar White Jr.

25 minutes long, but worth the time. You have to know how the game is rigged before you can unrig it.
We just got our letters. We're self employed, so we have to purchase our own insurance. Between loss of subsidy and increased premiums, our insurance is going from $1330/mo to $2438/mo, with increased deductibles and copays. That's 16k/yr to >29K/yr. This isn't sustainable. Who can afford this?
This is amazing!!
This was a great conversation. I was not very familiar with @kim.senate.gov , but definitely want to hear more of what he has to say.
This time line is exhausting.
You would think at some point, SCOTUS would decide theyβve done enough to help that man, but apparently, nope.
Important.
E enabled by people too cowardly and incompetent to stop it, the Project 2025 Presidency has done in months what our enemies couldn't do in a 100 years. It astounds me that the same folks who've been shouting about "government overreach" for two decades are cheering it all on now.
More than corruption, all the cancelled research in every sector is the very definition of waste. It's billions of $$$ & years of time/expertise lost, that will cost us more than money. It leads to a lower quality of life for all of us as the US gives up it's role as the leader in new technologies.
Please listen to @justinwolfers.bsky.social. Boom.
Most people don't answer calls from unknown numbers, but being self-employed, I doβin case it's a potential new client. So I often get calls asking my opinion about certain topics. I just got one, and for the first time ever, I hesitated when asked who I voted for. That's where we are
A bunch of Cajuns bout to bring their airboats and seafood boils in to the Great White North!
About halfway through this conversation with Heather Cox Richardson, Gil Duran discusses the network zones Peter Thiel and others want to build on public land. www.youtube.com/watch?v=FWjR...
Jena, LA back in the news, unsurprisingly for the same thing that always gets it in the news. The only thing that's changed is a bigger prison facility.
Great stuff here from @wired.com. I continue to be amazed at how niche press (Wired, Rolling Stone, Teen Vogue) has managed to become the face of this sort of reporting and organising while the mainstream media has done worse than failing.
All of it, manufactured.
THIS!!!π₯
Same. Stopped trying after 20 minutes.
It's all about the grift
Yeah, the number of unemployed people in Louisiana is 91,539 as of March 2025 according to the Louisiana Workforce Commission. If I can find this in 10 seconds, why can't Tapper?
This is quite the read, from beginning to end. When 700 year-old documents are popping up to remind us of our rights, perhaps we ought to listen.
Cassidy's vote to impeach pretty much sealed his fate with R's in LA. He already has 5 R challengers. He might have been able to save his seat by being the least bad R and getting D votes, or at least gone out with some grace and dignity. Now, he'll lose and someone even worse will replace him.
