PSVR2 players are passionate and outspoken. Ask them about what they'd like to see in your game, and you'll get instant feedback.
Treat this community like partners in development and they will reward you with feedback, advocacy, and hype that no ad budget can buy.
6️⃣ SHOW WHAT'S NEXT
After launch, don’t vanish.
Even small updates like patch notes, thank-yous, or a tease of what’s coming help a lot.
Players want to know you’re still there, and a new north star keeps them engaged for the longterm.
5️⃣ MAKE FEEDBACK EASY
Many VR games launch with no clear way for players to reach the devs.
No email or active socials means you’re blocking free marketing, free QA, and a community that wants to talk to you.
4️⃣ ONBOARD THROUGH PLAY
Get players moving within two minutes.
Skip long text walls and let them learn by doing.
Make tutorials skippable and replayable.
A fast, smooth start keeps people engaged. 🎯
3️⃣ PLATINUM TROPHIES MATTER
It might sound trivial, but for some players, they’re a reason to buy or skip a game.
Platinums create goals, boost playtime, and earn loyalty. With a community this passionate & engaged, leaving out a good trophy list or Platinum is a missed opportunity.. 🏆
2️⃣ COMFORT FOR EVERYONE
Accessibility brings more players in.
Newcomers rely on vignettes, snap turning, and teleportation. Veterans want smooth turning, full locomotion and fewer limits.
Offer both and you’ll make everyone feel at home.
1️⃣ USE THE HAPTICS
Games without them feel unfinished.
You don’t need complex effects. Just cover the basics: menu clicks, item grabs, damage, reloads, and light headset rumble for big moments. It adds so much presence!
When #PSVR2 launched, I decided to livestream every game that came out. As of yesterday, I’ve hit 270 titles!
That’s a lot of headset time, and it’s given me ideas on what works, what doesn’t, and what I’d love to see more of.
