one of my favorite bits of film knowledge is that in no country for old men, Javier Bardem was memorizing most of his lines phonetically, he didn't really speak English. He said it probably helped his performance come off as so cold and convincingly psychopathic. Dude won an Oscar for that role
Social media created this nonsense idea that not exposing yourself to hatred is isolationist. Choosing to not spend your free time with bigots isnβt living in a bubble. I donβt need to know whatβs going on at X. I wonβt be smarter or more knowledgeable or empathic by being there. Neither will you.

I personally think the Epstein-Genocide class of people should not be chairing any UN security council sessions but what do I know.
I don't know if I liked it (irrelevant) but I also found it quite male. Not because it's about a man but it kept hinting at trauma/pain without actually diving into it. Flashbacks are great but they can't do ALL the work.
Can't sleep. Thinking about that Springsteen film I watched on the plane. Cinematography was doing a lot of heavy lifting and dialogue was barely there. It felt comforting and disjointed all at once. Jeremy Allen White was interesting to watch/observe.
Part of functional literacy is being able to understand, on your own, the concept that the writer is writing for a specific audience. That the thing has a specific context.
Like, an article about dog grooming is addressed to dog owners. It does not need to include cat grooming.
Think about chuds constantly going "man I used to love this band but they turned woke by putting politics in their songs" and the band is literally Rage Against the Machine or Bruce Springsteen.

I loved playing Relooted. Itβs an intelligent blend of adrenaline, puzzle-solving, and real-world historical awareness. @nyamakop.co.za @mooncat.games

Did you notice this extra room in House of Horrors from the full game? π akaβ¦ did you grab the Lipiko Mask?
Small little detail you may have missed between the demo and the full game!
We are in the bad timeline, all excuses are valid.
I must admit, I had dreams of relaxing after we launched the game. BUT I owe my agent a new novel so
When I have the strength (post launch fatigue is real), I will write about how working on Relooted has made me a better writer, thinker and person. I'm so very proud of the work we've done.
Our Paris Launch Party unlocked a new core memory for us!
A massive thank you to Narratify for making it all happen 𧑠And to MansA for hosting an amazing event for all the attendees, participants and our devs!
Thank you to everyone who joined us and made it a weekend weβll never forget!
For a long time after we recorded v.o for the game, I would open a door and whisper "the locksmith."

Fun fact: play Relooted and you can meet Etienne

Birth of a legend.
Estate Agents keep calling to see if we want to sell. Sell and go where? Cape Town is impossible right now. Hang on to your leases and homes, friends.
Weβre glad our maps with passive aggressively circled countries are doing the job we wanted π
Here are some cool #Relooted Concept-art, I did for the game's cinematics.
These helped a lot in knowing the colors and lighting we needed for the cut-scenes to work.
I didn't expect @nyamakop.co.za's RELOOTED to be so educational, love it!
There's such rich history in this game that I have never known about, some of it leaning into some very dark (but important) historical territory. My Twitch chat and I were having some heavy conversations about this today.
Relooted (2026): 4 concept art by @bonganivizdev.bsky.social (art director & cinematic artist)
Thank you to Charlene Lebrun from @mooncat.games for managing to ask @nyamakop.co.za in the middle of their promotional campaign so that I could share some concept art from this fresh afrofuturist game. π
From Cape Town to Johannesburg, even bringing together devs from Ghana and beyond, we are now speaking with @nyamakop.co.za about developing their recently released title RELOOTED!
Relooted is a great game! My daughter LOVES it and thatβs an absolute win. Sheβs 4 and see loves the loop of this game and I get to enjoy the history of some of the artifacts and the way it makes me feel to steal them. :)
Liking Relooted a lot. Great heist parkour, some stuff to say, and very clean presentation.
Pleasantly surprised by how pointed it is.
Have you checked out your Artifact Library yet? How many artifacts have you reclaimed so far?

Tomorrow, Relooted hits Steam!
Before (or after) you play, listen to this interview with developers @benjamming.bsky.social and @blckporcelain.bsky.social. Learning the differences between Afrofuturism and Africanfuturism helped me better understand the game's ambitions!
