When some amazing rescuers scooped this fluffy, friendly cat up from a Baltimore alley yesterday, they thought she was just really pregnant. But it soon became clear that something was very, very wrong… 1/6

President Trump has chosen – yes, chosen – to fund his war instead of lowering the cost of your health care, groceries, and gas.

Obama’s change in policy towards Cuba and the JCPOA happened, the world didn’t end, everything was fine. Part of manufacturing consent for more war is purposefully forgetting the very recent memory when it was proven to be wholly unnecessary.

The Most Chilling Detail in the U.S. Attack on an Iranian Naval Ship The Iranian warship was taking part in an international exercise with many other countriesβ€”including the United States.

This is a chilling crime. A shame on our country. The Iranian ship was unarmed. The US knew this. The sailors were murdered by our navy, and the survivors were left to die at sea.

An original Nashville sit-in member, along with Diane Nash, James Bevel, and John Lewis. Trained in non-violence by James Lawson. At age 21, he signed a will before the Freedom Rides, knowing he could die.

May his soul be at peace, and may we all have such courage in the face of oppression.

Why We Must Fight to Stop HR 7661 Before It Destroys the Lives of American Children Lately I’ve been calling my House rep and screaming about one zillion things, and maybe you have too. But today I want to talk about one thing in particular you should add to your list: H.R. 7661 i…

I wrote about the first national book banning bill, which effectively seeks to erase trans people. At the end I include a link to let your reps know that you oppose this bill and all it stands for. lithub.com/why-we-must-...

Hamlet (I know this is my favorite Shakespeare play because I wept blood over a full chapter about it in my dissertation and I will STILL watch any production you point me at).

I also love Titus Andronicus and Richard III. And Macbeth.

Kristi Noem deserved to be fired, but the damage she’s caused cannot be undone.

Alex Pretti and Renee Good cannot be brought back, and ICE still needs to be reined in. I will keep fighting for accountability and commonsense guardrails that protect Americans.

Wisconsinites don’t want a β€œforever” war, and they don’t want to pay more at the gas pump. This is a lose-lose situation for the American people.

And the president has no plan to end this chaos.

Dad's dad was a CPA, but he'd also served on a USGS ship in Alaska.

Mom's dad was a surgeon. He was with the first hospital into Normandy after D-day and made full colonel before he left the army for Swedish Hospital in Seattle.

I never met either of them; they died before I was born.
