I attempted to watch Borley Rectory: The Awakening the other day and Patsy Kensit looks awful. As a period drama, it is impossible to understand her age and in context, sorry, but I kept thinking burn victim. Its so unnatural looking and knowing it was a choice makes it impossible to gloss over.

I had dyed hair at uni and knowing that some of my lecturers thought like this (on a very traditional BMus) made me smile as much as the ones who disapproved (I was barred from chamber choir!).
Also became the favourite of the visually impaired lecturer cos he could see me!

pretend anymore. Like I burst through. Just a sort of quiet, honest revolution. I have lost all my friends because they only liked masked Cinzia, but I feel kind of free? Its a weird feeling.

I didn't recognise it, but there was a day I went into work and I just couldn't pretend anymore. It was scary - like I'd lost control of myself. JSD is a major issue for me and I just couldn't cope with how unfair and illogical everything has become. I didn't freak out or meltdown, I just couldn't

So many research development officers and managers pulling their hair out at this right now. 'We ask for a minimum of 6 weeks to support large bids' 'but the funder only give us four!'

What are you doing here? What is your aim? What do you think you're achieving by being an insufferable pedant? In general, autistic people are not asshats. I assume you're the exception to that rule as well...

Used to love when they called on the Isle of Man - we're not eligible for 99% of the stuff the calls were for and have a distinct county code, so if the company were daft enough to get their workers to call 01624 they were good for a chat!

When you see a human in the sea, the only way to find out who they are is to get them to shore and ask them. You can't decide who lives and dies without first saving them.

So much of what is happening with genAI is b/c the mainstream media is already slop, full of poorly-worded, poorly-argued articles assigned on the basis of follower count & edited to scare as few horses as possible. Passive voice, lazy metaphors, no theory of history, cheerleading for capital.

Westminster Meeting House raided by Metropolitan Police again. Statement: โFor Quakers, faith and action are inseparable. Peaceful protest, prayer and nonviolent action are integral parts of many Quakers' religious life.
Whilst we take the planning of criminal acts very seriously, we believe that this incident is a deliberate targeting of committed young people who want to make our country a more equitable place. This raid is part of a systematic stifling of dissent.
That this is the second time in a year that the police have raided our meeting house dramatically illuminates the broader trend in the UK of cracking down on those who disagree with the government. The right to protest is fundamental to our democracy. It's a key part of how people make their voices heard between elections.โ โ Oliver Robertson, Head of Witness and Worship
Quakers in Britain, 5 March 2026
Yesterday evening, for the second time in a year, the Met Police raided Westminster Quaker Meeting House and arrested a number of young nonviolent activists.

Also, you don't get to gatekeep autistic people's experiences or tell them what they can and can't say about autistic people. So fuck off with your sanctimonious policing.

Mate. We have traits. Clusters of traits is what makes us autistic. Not every autistic person has the same traits. But autistic people share traits across the spectrum. One of those traits is faster gut mobility. In general autistic people shit more. Well done for not having that trait.

Camping. Tried to fix my broken torch while sitting on the loo. I'd heard it crunch and knew the bulb had broken, but still unscrewed it. Glass all in my knickers and (skinny) jeans...
Tried to leapfrog a bollard in a long skirt.

I think the origin of mother's day is why it is bigger - a lot still celebrate as part of lent, and the Hallmark stuff tagged on when mothers still stayed at home and did all the caring. Father's day is much newer - as is equal parenting.

And you are representative of all autistic people and we are all exactly the same? Because I am autistic and poop more... ergo...
However, I am referring to medical literature and not your specific experience...
