Russia is providing Iran intelligence to target U.S. forces, officials say β€” The Washington Post The targeting information has included the locations of American warships and aircraft in the Middle East, the officials said.

Not quite sure what it will take for MAGA to see Putin as an enemy.

Pretty sure voters prefer breakfast clubs to war. Badenoch is so inept it's embarrassing. Of all the things she could have tried to use to disparage the Labour govt she picks making sure kids don't go hungry. She is the gift that keeps on giving for Keir Starmer lol

We're like a 75-year-old pretending that we still have the same physical energy and mental accuity we used to have at age 18, relying heavily on those now fictitious attributes instead of adapting our lifestyle and making the most of the wealth of wisdom and experience we accumulated along the way.

If Britain's sense of national self-worth had declined at the same rate as our economic, military and political power, we would be in a much better position now.

Instead, we're hampered by memories of Empire, Britannia Rules the Waves, not-invented-here, British exceptionalism and similar nonsense.

I wouldn't call her an 'influencer', but I detest both of them. They're certainly not patriots. I thought they were there to evade tax.

This is a classic example of Imperial Blowback. Foreign powers, seeking to shape the world to their demands, destabilise and overthrow popular governments, with results that - sometimes many decades later - come back to bite them in the nethers.

This is what fuelled the revolutionary movement that overthrew him in 1979. Many of the revolutionaries cited the 1953 coup as their primary motivation. They wanted their country back. Instead they got another brutal, undemocratic regime, presided over by the ayatollahs.

In 1953, at Churchill's instigation, and with his assistance, the CIA launched two coups against the democratically elected government of Mohammad Mosaddegh, the 2nd of which succeeded. Why? Because he rightly sought to nationalise Iran's oil supplies, which the UK was taking: seizing Iran's wealth.

Question Time - 2026: 05/03/2026 Fiona Bruce presents an hour of topical debate from Kettering. On the panel are Stephen Doughty, James Cleverly, Shashank Joshi, George Monbiot and Annabel Denham.

I don't know how to clip a segment (sorry), but the bit I really want you to watch starts at 29'10". It's about the deep roots of the attack on Iran and why it's just as well Starmer is "no Winston Churchill". I'm surprised this aspect isn't more widely discussed. 🧡

Fantastic council by-election result.

Labour gain from Reform, with increased vote share for Labour.

This is an area where Reform have been in charge for 10 months and it's seeing votes switching from Reform to Labour.

Exactly as we said would happen when people experienced Reform!

Read these words from 100 years ago about immigrants in Britain – and see how history is chillingly repeating itself | George Monbiot Shabana Mahmood’s new rights clampdown looks outlandish until we remember that this kind of hardline action is part of our country’s fabric, says George Monbiot

The precedent is eerily, chillingly precise. What the current Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood is doing to immigrants and refugees today is almost a carbon copy of what Sir William Joynson-Hicks was doing 100 years ago. And that's not a good thing. My column.

Trump is having to be reminded that when you threaten an EU member on trade, in this case Spain, the EU comes to your defence.

That's one of the key perks of being part of a bloc which negotiates trade as one cohesive unit: nobody can pull you out of the pack and savage you.

Time for the UK to embrace a European future.

I have just held a call with President Pedro SΓ‘nchez to express the EU’s full solidarity with Spain.

The EU will always ensure that the interests of its Member States are fully protected.

To save typing everything out, I have done a quick video on how Labour's latest attack on people seeking asylum, by halting work and study visas for Afghanistan, Sudan, Myanmar and Cameroon undermines its own arguments defending why they have cancelled other previously remaining resettlement routes.

Trump expects Britain (and other European countries) to blindly follow each of his rash decisions. But Starmer is right not to do so when:
- the UK was not consulted beforehand
- the professed aims constantly change
- there is no exit strategy
- it breaks international law

Trump has cornered himself with his war in Iran | Sidney Blumenthal The president needs a quick win to avoid a quagmire – but he needs a long war to justify potential emergency powers

Trump has cornered himself with war in Iran.

What is the end-game? Killing the leader means another vengeful hardliner step-in, generations will seek retribution and it goes on.

Leaders declaring illegal wars should do frontline service. Trump dodged military draft 5 times.
