Hand knitted scarf in progress, on 3.5 mm circular needles using 2 yarns: a deep purple silk mohair and a super wash merino (sport weight) in mauve with flecks of turmeric, cherry and purple colours. Little burgundy pearlized beads are knit into the scarf on 5 rows. Scarf is laying on a neutral cushion with lime stripes.
I missed #wipWednesday but here's another Uptown scarf on my needles, this time with beads.
Pattern: Uptown by Susie Haumann
Yarns: La Bien Aimée merino sport and CaMaRose Midnattsol.
Beads: Miyuki Rocaille 6/0 Pearlized Amy.

A painting of a woman wearing a Fair Isle knitted jumper, with a knitted hat, scarf and white gloves. She is looking towards the viewer.
Today is #NationalSweaterDay so let's enjoy 'The Fair-Isle Jumper' painted by #Orkney-born artist Stanley Cursiter in 1923.
Stanley Cursiter (1887-1976) was Keeper of the National Galleries of Scotland from 1930-1948 and was appointed the King's Painter and Limner in Scotland.

Photo from the Dale of Norway website showing a blond woman model outside in sunshine with blurred Mountains in the background . She's wearing a red and white wool sweater of a traditional Norwegian pattern.
Anyone else loving the Norwegian team sweater at the Winter Olympics? It's gorgeous! Made from 100% fine Norwegian wool with 100% soft merino lining. Made by Dale of Norway which made the first team sweater in 1956 🧶💕🏔️❄️

About a foot of chunky hand knitted blanket on a long circular needle. Thick charcoal grey Italian merino yarn. Simple rows of cable on a 14 row repeat. Knitting and attached ball of wool are laying on a pale grey woollen rug with a basket and table leg just visible.
My grey #showmeyourknits is also also a current WIP - the beginnings of a simple cable blanket for my son in Katia Gentile Merino yarn on 8mm needles.
Pattern is 'Comfort' by Kim Hargreaves from an old Rowan magazine (no.34).

A long Facebook message describing ways to regulate your nervous system during difficult times, including the repetitive and predictable rhythm of knitting.
A friend just sent me this wonderful post from Audacious Ewe that popped up on her FB feed.
Take care of yourselves everyone - keep calm and keep knitting 🧶💕

2 hanks of yarn still labelled. Left, La Bien Aimée hand dyed cashmerino (75% sw merino, 15% cashmere & 10% nylon) in greys, dark brown, amber, wine and grass green colours. Right, Laine X Novita 4 ply wool (70% Falkland wool, 15% Bluefaced Leicester & 15% Bluefaced Kerry Hill) in a deep wine colour. Both lying of grey cushions.

I have a garter stitch project ready to start, so a deconstructed contribution for #showmeyourknits this week! Some luscious La Bien Aimée cashmerino arrived yesterday to make this shawlette, with Laine X Novita 4 ply for the tiny tassels.

I've just added the Moonflowers shawl and cowl to Favourites! I could do with editing my queue tbh, as it's too long and hasn't kept pace with my Favourites!
