Messin' a bit more with controlling that dummy. Added a bit of a lean when turning, and been playing a bit with inverse kinematics. Those'll be useful to keep them hands on that steering wheel innit. #gamedev #indiedev #godot
@fontes
I make stuff. Sometimes it's drawn, sometimes it's pixellated, sometimes it's playable, and other times it's spat out of a 3D printer. Projects and art commission info: https://fabiofontes.com/ #gamedev #indiedev #art #illustration #3dprinting #diy

new street fighter be lookin a bit weird innit #gamedev #indiedev #godot
Well, making him slide along the ledge was easier than making the animation for it lol
Able to do platforming, considering what I'm making that guy for doesn't even require jumping lol
eh, I'll take it lol
Only works reliably with wide ledges though, still gotta do tests with narrow protrusions lol
Does this guy need full platformer controls? Probably not. Is it detrimental for what I need of him? Not really. Figuring out ledge-grabbing was easier than I expected, though! #gamedev #indiedev #godot
oh lol, it's pretty much what I did down to the number of "strands" (3 per side). Except I'm only using a single bone per strand, it'll do for my use-case
I mean, nothing wrong with animating it by hand with bones. Just ask Arc System Works lol
add more bones and move them about, basically lol
I was a dumbass and was relying on the leg bones to move that skirt which worked as well as you'd think, so decided to fix it before I made more of these. Might tweak that animation some more, but it'll do for now at least. #gamedev #indiedev #blender
while pricier than a Pi4, that OPi5Max's definitely usable as a daily driver. With managed expectations of course. It'll do them youtubes just fine at least lol
That Orange Pi 5 Max with 16GB of RAM was around €165 on aliexpress, and very much butts heads with an RPi5 as performance goes, works about as well as a budget laptop. Nothing groundbreaking, but usable for the form factor it allows. Definitely plenty for what I need.
Yeah, dunno where you got that price, what's in the photo doesn't hit even half that, and that's counting the keyboard.
Well aware pre-built devices exist, I carry one in my pocket every day and have another in my backpack. Multiple reasons why I'm doing this, but let's settle for "because I wanna"
might as well drop it here eh: aliexpress.com/item/1005009...
Ah, I see there appears to be a bit of confusion. The term "desktop" can be used in multiple contexts. I'm referring to the type of OS, that being the one that has a... well, desktop environment.
This isn't replacing my tower rig with 3 monitors or my thinkpad lol
Arch-based in that case, so kinda. I do have Arch on my main rig after 2 years of Manjaro as my first distro.
I dunno, there's a desktop environment right there, it counts lol
That screen arrived today from aliexpress (5.7", 1080p with touch and ok speakers) so doing a quick tape-powered test with my OrangePi 5 Max. Still wild to me one can have a full-ass desktop experience like this. Distro's bredOS btw. Goofy name, but great option for non-RPi SBCs. #orangepi #linux
Haven't drawn shit in a while due to pesky burnout, figured out how to replace sprites in Daggerfall Unity, so did a quick experiment lol #daggerfall #krita
I'm surprised enough people use Bing to even notice
Still rough as shit but hey, it looks like *a place* at the very least. Kinda! Figuring out how to lay the road in there and not have it clip all over the place was interesting. #gamedev #indiedev #godot
Bit more refinement on controls, now with 100% more ratchet turning! And yeah, road texturing's important too I suppose. #gamedev #indiedev #godot
don't even need that, just duct-tape the drivers into your head
While I'm currently doing this on-and-off between other stuff so the actual time frame is "ah'unno lol", assets aside I could've probably slapped this as-is on a weekend, if that's what you wanna know.
It's one thing to test controls in the vaccuum of an empty area, it's another to have a track to go through. This'll do for now. Shoutout to the iffy collisions on the overpass lol #gamedev #indiedev #godot
Finally giving Morrowind a go (using openmw). While it's fun to do my usual hand-to-hand run, it's also funny to figure out you can kinda play this like a boomer shooter. Crossbows are funny like that.
... and yes, the series very much went downhill after this one.
I am now reminded of that meme with the can of beans, and how people used it a lot to defend Doom 2016/Eternal.
As a fan of classic Doom, I now find myself agreeing with the one buying the beans. That can really could've had some diced tomatoes in there.
sometimes ye just gotta lean into it, ye know
Setting that heightmap terrain aside and refining them car controls a bit more. Yeah, this is feeling alright! #gamedev #indiedev #godot
