This is on my wishlist!
I received a bank note saying that they are withdrawing my overdraft. I panic. I don't think I have an account with this bank, just a mortgage.
Turns out it is an old student account, shockingly with money in! I win Β£500 at the cost of the bank clerk thinking I'm stupid by knowing none of my info.
Generally we set a mix but the most liked, and therefore most likely to be completed, are short broken down tasks or questions with a reading or video. Several like picture annotations too which might work for the artefacts

This looks like a Goodreads book calendar. If you'd like a non-amazon alternative that gives you lots of fun charts about your reading too the. I recommend @thestorygraph.com
I wonder if there is also a correlation with commute time? Perhaps more local = more likely to leave site?
If you teach Theme A Relationships and Family for @aqaeducation.bsky.social Religious Studies Paper 2 then you and your students might be interested in this overview of the whole of Theme A, key quotes and links it to 4, 6 and 12-mark questions. Out tomorrow. #Revision #GCSE #TeamRE
A Blue Tit is perched on a branch, fluffed up into a perfect little ball with its head tucked deep into its feathers, fully committed to ignoring the outside world. Its soft blue, yellow, and green plumage looks extra cosy, and its tiny claws cling to the branch as if refusing to face the day and determined not to budge...giving off strong βnope, not todayβ vibes.

I recommend Sarah Knights book on the history of Syrian Christianity. (Not just because she is my Mam's friend and her cousin rescued me when I was ill and travelling in India) It gives a good overview of the distinctiveness of their practice.
Sisterkins: it might help you feel less awful if you read something light hearted or watched a comedy.
Me, looking at my book about an undertaker and to watch list of murder mysteries and gothic films: ummmmm.....
Syrian Christianity in Kerela is so interesting. Also have more bonus biblical books, loads of specific traditions and a historically quite inclusive theology.

Thank you! I hope your 2026 is also filled with lovely things.
Finishing of 2025 by nicely finishing both my physical book and audiobook before I head to bed.
My best ever year of 59 books this year. Holding on to that positive in an otherwise rocky year.
It does have lots of little things like doing self care will transform your life, or cooking a meal will transform your family. And I know there is a lot of extra support behind the scenes but it does feel a little disingenuous to have these stories of transformation in 5 days as if it were real.
I do find the "psychology" bits often a little suspect. I don't think it is helpful.
I was ill last weekend and picked an audio book that was supposed to be mind popcorn. It is terrible. I don't usually dnf but this manages to be infuriatingly predictable and make me cringe regularly despite still not being 100% I'll reveal it later once I've finished it.

Exciting possibilities for RE #TeamRE
It's 31 October. Most people will be thinking about Halloween. Historians, of course, will be thinking about Martin Luther, who nailed his 95 theses to the church door in Wittenberg on this day in 1517. 1/4
The bursary for RE teacher training will be withdrawn for 2026-27, worsening the national RE teacher shortage.

Hadn't twigged that one, but it is definitely a possibility.
In my family we call going grey "getting your glitter in" and I sort of love it. My great aunt styled her speckled white curls so well and I loved it.
I'm going to complain about something that makes me feel like an old lady:
The quality of socks today is poor. I still have socks I wore in secondary school (2 decades ago) but the pretty ones with birds on I got from M&S a year ago now have holes in and are going thin. This is upsetting.
1. When the government say teachers are appreciated but they don't fund a pay rise.
2. The office reaction when you get the break time toilet duty slot.
