I went to a bubble tea slash craft shop and I decorated this desktop vacuum cleaner to look like a little cake.

FRIENDS: please take this survey about the DC GO! webcomic line on DC Universe Infinite to help determine the future of the line!

I told them to renew Aquaman: Yo-Ho-Hold Onto Your Hook, put The Question (Vic Sage) in something, and recommended some good writers

I was fortunate enough to be present when the Wildlife Clinic at The Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education, released a hawk back into the wild. Poor girl arrived at the clinic with a shoulder injury but took off into the sky, good as new.

I was reminded today what a miracle it is that I was able to create a queer trans goofball superhero with @deuxdel.bsky.social, who then found a home in the hearts of so many and this year will be in her second graphic novel and a Justice League book.

So thanks, all of you, for making that happen.

American Chestnut History | The American Chestnut Foundation

It’s complicated. The short answer is: not like we used to. tacf.org/history-amer...

Genetic engineering to make chestnut trees more resilient so we can reintroduce them to North America. Commercial access to the electric legs that allow people greater mobility. The modeling that allows us to plan for microclimates to build resilience and preserve native species.

I just imagine a tent with a lounge area where a young person says something like β€œShould I break up with him, like sometimes he’s really sweet but then sometimes…”

Or β€œwe’ve gotten engaged!”

Or β€œHow do I come out to my Grandmother?”

I was born in the 80s. My generation lost many of our elders. What an honor it is to take on that role, to let you know that you can find your people, that you are not alone, that there is family everywhere, and we are rooting for you.

I told her that her community is out there. Then her plane was boarding and my wife came back and we both wished her well. I watched her go, knowing that I am her Auntie now, part of that extended family of queer people who watch over each other.

I told her that I am 45, so as bad as things are, they used to be worse. I told her that there will always be people who don’t accept you, but that you find your family, that you build you community, and that when you find your people you can make things better. I told her to have hope.

I complimented her Moomin stationary and she was delighted I knew who they were. I said β€œMy wife writes comics so I’ve learned a lot from her.” She got quiet for a moment. Then cheerful. She told me that she is queer, and asked, since I have a wife, if I’m worried about how things are going.

We talked a little about where we were both going and our love of stationary. She would cut out interesting graphics from ads and packaging and keep it. I gave her a sticker. I always carry extras.

I was in an airport in Tokyo when a young woman sat down next to me. I’d been working on my planner, which is a maximalist dream.

My wife had gone for a walk and I was genuinely surprised that anyone sat next to me. But she said she noticed my planner and she took out her own. It was fantastic.

I’d volunteer for that kind of thing.

You know what we need at Pride Festivals this year?

A council of elders. Aunties. Uncles. A tent where young people can go and share their good news and have elders celebrate them. Where they could sit down with family and ask for advice. Where young people could ask about our history.

You know, all this AI stuff is really the natural progression of planned obsolescence. Instead of trying to sell us something that breaks quickly, they’re trying to sell us something that comes already broken.
