Aliβs memoir captures this very well. Language and linguistics plays a large role in how memory is interpreted within the prefrontal cortex. Ali weaves together her experience reconstructing her mind post-birthing event while interrogating how the language of Islam shaped it.
One of the difficult things about describing my time in the hospital, post-coma, is that I don't have memories at all of the first few weeks and the ones that come later aren't entirely concrete. The memories I do have are fluid and dream-like except for a few instances of stark lucidity.
Aliβs circumstances differ from mine significantlyβshe suffered from preeclampsia that came to a head while she was giving birth. While in labor, she experienced multiple heart attacks, a series of strokes, full organ failure, entered a 5-day coma, and acquired a brain injury.
Roughly 10 years ago I fell about 25 feet out of a tree, ended up in a 10-day coma, didnβt die, and have permanent brain damage.

Every time I feel sad, I remember the person I'm seeing has the same blood type as me. That's gonna be useful.
Cool, calm, collected? No.
Hot. Bothered. Disbursed.

Don't feel bad if you don't have a president for President's Day. A lot of people didn't have a valentine for Valentine's Day.
And no one had solid ground for hog day

.....let me tell you....this was the wrong task to pick up as a severely brain damaged person with poor fine motor skills. π
I'm going to confess something: I never learned how to type properly and do an interesting spider crawl flurry across the keyboard. I can do this very quickly, without looking, but it is not correct.
Over the past few days, I've decided to attempt teaching myself the proper way to type......
Ooh, this is me. Gonna pitch.

Ah, yes. An ongoing occurrence.
@brookeknisley - I don't know when when I'm gonna die, so I have a midlife crisis every every year to play it safe

It's obviously a Bruce Wayne/bat situation
Just found a 2010 interview with him in The Guardian that leads me to believe he might also fear it, so
Peter Gabriel choosing to release a new song off of his album on every full moon throughout the year is 100% witch shit

This is my non-sponsored ad for the Finch app.
It's that time of year again.....when the algorithm remembers I'm a writer and all my targeted ads become productivity planners
I am joking π
I also have penis envy. π
I'm genderfluid in the sense that I keep telling people to suck my dick. And I mean it.
