Frieren so dang good. Sub vs dub isn’t the obvious choice it was in the 90’s. I still prefer subs to get the context the original language adds, but the vocal performances are so much better than they were back in the day.

It’s been years since I’ve updated anything, but just an FYI to anyone who might have my site bookmarked, I let my domain lapse for clayyount[dot]com, and it was bought by someone who cloned my site, and set up redirects to a casino site. I’ve just bought clay-yount.com and re-hosted my site there.
@ironspike.bsky.social Good luck on learning Japanese! I highly recommend sticking with Wani Kani. It took me a while, but around level 20 it unlocked a level of reading comprehension that 3 years of studying at college didn’t.
They were true pioneers sent to their deaths just to see if a practical effects FF movie with no budget could even exist. The Laikas of the MCU.
I mean, who could imagine that Trump would give a shitty juvenile sharpie outline drawing with his signature below it as a present? Totally unbelievable. He’d charge 30K for it.

I want to boo, but he’s right.
This video has pushed us past the boundaries of what’s known in physical cringe. We are vibe cringing.

I wonder how Miyazaki feels about the Ghiblify everything AI art trend? Guess we’ll never know. youtu.be/ngZ0K3lWKRc?...
Are you my YouTube algorithm? Also, I recommend WaniKani for kanji study.
Great snakes!
Supernintendo Hiroshi! I was just…sketching Mario sprites...from a birds-eye view! Isometric exercises! Care to join me?
Why is there a turnip coming out of his hand, Miyamoto?
Um, ohh! That isn’t a turnip, it’s a 1up! A steamed 1up from all mushrooms Mario’s eating, Mmmm! Steamed mushrooms!
My grandmother was one of 17 kids, and grew up in depression era Quebec. That is a childhood that I can’t even comprehend. Probably because it was all in French.
It democratizes art in the same way a pickpocket liberates your wallet.
As for switching from Intel being a good thing… Absolutely. Intel Macs were such a poor value for the power they delivered at the end and had serious overheating/batt efficiency issues. I’ve never seen a performance jump year over year like the M1 line. They would have been crazy to stick with Intel
Does it seem to you that I’m arguing semantics over “lost”? That really wasn’t my intent. Just pretend that I said “dropped” like you did because that’s how I meant it. Like, they had it as a feature, then they didn’t. That’s what I meant.
Microsoft seems to have determined that supporting virtualization through Parallels is good enough, and don't want to develop ARM Windows to support booting on Apple Silicon. It's not really Apple's call to make.
You can't run x86 Windows on ARM. It's not a lost feature, it just doesn't work. Bootcamp only worked on Intel Macs because they were using the same Intel processors Windows already supported. Apple Silicon is a customized ARM architecture that ARM Windows doesn't support. That's why MS has to do it
Sorry for going on a bit like an advertisement, but I really think Affinity is criminally overlooked as the complete Adobe replacement it is, especially for people coming from CS6.
They also have fully featured versions available on iOS. The whole suite with Mac/PC/iOS versions is only $83 for Black Friday, which is kinda nuts. That paired with a Mac will be a huge upgrade. If you can do desktop, the base M4 mini is the best value in tech right now, but the Air is good too.
Their suite is a PS/Illustrator/inDesign replacement. Compared to CS6, it can do basically everything and then some including full CMYK mode support. Affinity Photo's UI is close enough to Photoshop's that you won't feel lost, and it also supports psd files, abr brushes, and has custom UI/shortcuts
I think it's absolutely the time to cut the cord with Adobe. There is a really wonderful alternative suite for Mac + PC called Affinity. No subscriptions. No gen AI. They are currently running a 1/2 off sale on all their software. affinity.serif.com/en-us/

This extends beyond just comics though. Sci-fi, fantasy, anime… pretty much everything nerds were in to has become much more mainstream. The idea of looking down on someone because of their niche interest was waaay more prevalent in the 80’s and 90’s.
Culturally, it’s the mainstreaming of the IPs from Hollywood. When I was young, being into comics was a pretty niche thing. Most people knew about Superman, Batman, Spider-man, and maybe Captain America. Now people who have never read a comic can name all the members of the Guardians of the Galaxy.
Pauli wished to join his friends in jail on principle, but was excluded by the state police.
So, what I'm getting is that people here DON'T like Gen AI. Am I reading the vibe right? Cause I looked at the real life photos of Elon Musk, and I would not recommend.
No, you aren't old, this is just the latest iteration of the "everyone clapped" email chains boomers send. You probably can't relate because you aren't bitter about fake injustices that require made up scenarios. It sounds weird to you because you don't have a victim complex.
