I hard forgotten how gorgeous and stylised this movie is.
Helen Mirren as Morgana is so hot though... and Nicol Williamson is making me cackle as Merlin every time he speaks. His ennunciation just kills me.
I didn't expect to start crying when Arthur meets Guinevere in the convent towards the end, wtf...
So the internet is out at my place until Sunday, and I don't have access to dropbox, but I do have a few movies I recently downloaded at my disposal, one of them being "Excalibur" (1981). Man, I forgot what a trip this film was...
A digital, black and white sketch of Jason from the Friday the 13th movie franchise. It's a low angle looking up a large, muscular man in jeans, tshirt and leather jacket wielding a machete, who is stepping out of a bunch of dark bushes threateninly. His face is covered by a hockey mask. Scary.
It was my turn to suggest something and while I have a list of characters I know better /I just had to honour today's date/, so here's a Jason Voorhees from the Friday the 13th movies (which I've never watched *gasp*)
*live action one piece
I love it when my partner reads me for filth π€£
as much as I wish I knew more people that watched the show and read the comics so I could nerd out... I'm glad I grew up with the X-men before the Internet was an easily accessible thing lol
also, the entitlement of people crying "why is it taking forever???"... like they see the writers strike/economic recession/animation industry in shambles/fascism in mainstream media happening around them and don't think that would affect the show being made in any way...
Every time I dare look up if there are any news about the next season of X-men '97 I end up wading through text walls of insufferable nerd rage, speculative gossip and not-so-thinly veiled homophobia (towards the previous showrunner) just to find some objective information.
A digital sketch of a "VERY LARGE, VERY KING" man. "Beautifully sculpted face and body, think kaleidoscope meets circus and ballet? Also his head is a tube." His royal cape is blowing in the wind as he poses mightily next to a baseball-sized version of Planet Earth.
Today we got the King of the Cosmos from Katamari!
A pen sketch on paper of character Usagi Yojimbo, an anthropomorphic rabbit dressed like a samurai carrying a katana.
A digital sketch of a kaiju from the film Pacific Rim. The kaiju is a huge lizard-like monster with a Y-shapped head and multiple sharp tails curling around its feet.
The studio I'm at right now does a daily drawing challenge where we only have 10 minutes to sketch a random character from memory. First day was Usagi Yojimbo, today was any kaiju from Pacific Rim.
reposted because the text formatting of the original one was giving me a headache lol
digital drawing of magician Aleister Crane and drag king Conrad de Goya recreating the infamous shot of the Looney Tunes character Marc Anthony squishing Pussyfoot in his hand while frowning and looking pensive. Aleister is the one holding a tiny, gremlin-like Conrad.
Oh yeah... I also tried my hand at some Chuck Jones silliness. This meme is still relevant, right? Aleister Crane's @seancovernton.bsky.social and
@conrad-de-goya.bsky.social's height difference is just very funny to me.
I'm hella sleepy and my head is buzzing after 5 hours of meetings and paperwork-reading. This is going to be a tough month work-wise but dang it, I'm so happy to be in this studio. I hope I get to stay a while longer after this contract.

cool art for a cool man! I'm so glad you like it! π
digital illustration of Sean Covernton, a man dressed like a wizard dressed in black and wearing a blue cape and a blue tabard. His right eye is glowing with bright blue arcane light. He's casting "fire ball" a spell towards the audience, but amongst the flames there's a cutout image of a Fireball whisky bottle. At the bottom the text reads "Happy Birthday, Sean!" with my signature next to it.
It was @seancovernton.bsky.social's birthday yesterday, so I tried to sketch a silly doodle, but it quickly turned into a full-rendered beast of an illustration. Beware of who joins your adventuring party, they might have some crazy spells!
aaah I'm glad you liked them! It was a lot of fun to try and capture you guys' numbers as they happened. Hopefully I can do this more often in future shows π
sharing this... for reasons
Worth sharing on International Womenβs Day. Fucking hell.

Oooh gorgeous! What type of fabric is it? I want to dye a pair of linen bedsheets but I'm worried they're going to come out splotchy
