Abused people will bend over backwards to make their abuser more comfortable. This is often not because of any of the weird psychological shit that some people like to come up with.

I don’t think that coming up with lists of “good” authors helps anyone. on a very basic level: you have no way of knowing if that’s true about anyone.
the gist of this is important to know. but please protect yourselves when reading further. the details are brutal and can be hard to stomach. it’s ok to look away. don’t retraumatize yourself.
