It wasnβt wildly popular in California. He did a good and brave and right thing as a leader.
It is incredibly upsetting to hear him disavow it now. Just awful. And to hear him suggest that identities are not part of βkitchen table issuesβ.
Unbearable.
Maybe in the 70s? My family had B&W when I was a kid and then we got a color tv. Iβm in my early 50s.
I need people to really pay attention to what ones are getting publicity and why. Every name on this list is just as important. Every name deserves a riot. Nothing changes if we don't stand up for everyone, every single time.
I think this is different from the Jan 6 hearings, and more similar to the KKK ones. These hearings, like those, would focus on the impact on everyday people. That is more compelling & digestible to people who otherwise donβt pay attention.
I loved Last Tango in Halifax! Also Schitts Creek.
Thank you for sharing this important research. It is sadly relevant in too many countries. I wonder what early interventions could have been protective in the long term.
Heartbreaking.
They do whatever they want.
Unrestricted grants from which types of donors used to be more common? I have been looking at this issue for decades and have not seen a decline. They have always been rare from major donors.
That is so cool! The pictures are adorable. Congratulations!
Such a struggle for poor Harvard. Holding a white man accountable for his egregious behavior toward women is so painful. They needed time to see if there was any way they could avoid it.
"Quiet, Piggy" reactions from yours truly:
1. Soft misogyny in public is a tell for hard misogyny in private.
2. Not a single male reporter clapped back at Trump's "quiet piggy" comment.
3. I've seen no main page coverage from the biggest outlets. Absolutely part of the problem.
Never forget that just a week ago, Ross Douthat and the NYTimes were asking if women ruined the workplace.
I spent *weeks* canvassing in Reno and phone banking for Cortez Masto - twice. I hope someone primaries her next time so I can do the same for them. I sure as hell wonβt be doing it for her again.
Thank goodness. Thank you to everyone who called him.
Schumer cannot continue to be minority leader. Cannot.
Thank you.
I called his SF office. He has a few offices in CA.
I canβt even put into words how angry I am. I have been so fucking loyal for so long, but they have absolutely lost me if they cave. There is no coming back from this. They stand for NOTHING and nobody.
In this kind of situation it absolutely is. I wasnβt reading news today but happened to see posts here and immediately began calling. I am livid.
So often when canvassing or phone banking I have to persuade voters fed up with Dems. I will have no answer if Dems cave now.
Yes, called him too and got through!
Adam Schiffβs voicemail is full. I called all 4 numbers. Very annoying.
Was able to leave a message for Padilla though.
Itβs no longer a news organization.
I revered the Supreme Court for that. When I was a kid I wanted to be a Supreme Court Justice so I could right wrongs.
What this Court has done is beyond shameful, beyond tragedy.
They need people to have more babies to make up for the kids who will be dying?
Foster City
Itβs the seduction of the βsilver bullet,β the belief that there remains a fact yet to be revealed thatβs so damning that it will break Trumpβs spell. But heβs not a witch, heβs a fascist. Itβs not magic, itβs an awful movement, and you beat it not with counterspells but with better organizing.
This @jamellebouie.net essay is beautiful and tragic. Well worth your time. Well worth sharing broadly.
