Documenters play an important role in our mission at Mirror Indy and in the city. They’re regular people who, through attending public meetings and taking notes, help to keep lawmakers accountable and our communities informed. Here are the meetings they’re attending this week.
Makenzie Lukas became an Indy Documenter because she wanted to understand exactly what was going on in our city, and we pay her and other Documenters to attend meetings, ask questions, and take notes.
Documenters are helping us create a new public record in Indianapolis.
When recent snowstorms rendered downtown parking inaccessible, concerned business owners and neighbors went to city-county councilors for help.

This monthly meeting is typically held on the third Thursday of each month at 4:00 p.m. There are seven board members who are charged with managing all aspects of IndyGo.

I am here covering the Indianapolis Public Library Board of Trustees meeting that will be starting any minute.
City-County Council president Vop Osili will not seek reelection to his leadership role.
He is one of several Democrats rumored to be considering running for mayor in 2027: https://bit.ly/44WisRi
The board's calendar on its web site indicated a 1 p.m. start time but notices outside the doors indicate a 2 p.m. start time. Security personnel confirm a 2 p.m. start time and the meeting room was open to the public at 1 p.m. with ample seating for anyone wanting to wait, though no one is present.
