The economics, it’s trickling down on them
The economics, it’s trickling down on them
For about a decade I’ve sincerely believed we should just set a cap on total wealth, a “top score” beyond which we just confiscate everything, and the reason isn’t even redistribution, it’s sanity preservation for the rich. Not self-, but societal-exclusion from the casino.
At least we got chicken
Is this to prevent a fan motor from burning out like mine just did? Or what is the defrost a prescription for? (I hope it’s fan motor preventative maintenance, I hate the notion that this is just a thing that will happen to us every 4 years.)
He might! I was trying to find our copy of The Way Things Work for him earlier today!
I really like this idea as a way to transition away from unlimited crap (an anxiety that has been front of mind lately), I do think he can understand the element of fairness of everyone getting one pick. Thanks!
Who is the “everyone” making the picks? These are great selections. My 4-year-old has been inpatient for cancer for a lot of the last 10 months, and his choice would be 15 seconds of attention-span-destroying AI nonsense, followed quickly by more of the same because he was already bored. 🫣
LJ Vonn behavior, nothing but respect for a competitor here
I heard he used to drive Aday the Giant to school.
Apropos of absolutely nothing, did everybody know that pediatric cancer patients can develop shingles because their varicella vaccine can “reactivate” due to their immunocompromised state?
SHINGLES! On 4-year-olds who have already put up with some real shit!
Same guy says the homes have to be affordable but can’t be rentals. What does he even think he means?
Do these people go to a school for this or do the same bullshit objections keep occurring to them spontaneously like crabs?
We just watched the tattered remains of a hockey team chase Canada around their own zone for about 35 minutes, then win a gold medal. Total bullshit, absolutely incredible.
Just a few years, for me. What a downgrade Pfizer’s leftovers were!
Clinton himself was a bit of a piece of shit, but are you saying his administration acted corruptly to enrich its principal, gratify its enablers, or in pursuit of its agenda? Aside from a couple shitty pardons on the way out?
I’m really curious every time I see someone use the “giving away millions of dollars” line, do they know and they’re eliding the details to sound worse, or do they just have no idea and they’re extremely confident from that place of ignorance? Which is worse?
From now on, in certain contexts there will be ambiguity over what a hockey person means when they refer to “Doing a Michigan.”
Can’t believe I can do this (especially after booting #1 pretty hard)

Also, my grandma hailed from West By-God Virginia and she said “yinz” plenty
Just “yinz”? They’re still doing KMO, then?
Oh, right, the Geddes campus, not the “North Building” — of course. Honestly can’t explain why I jumped to the latter, and damn, that’s a much bigger miss for the city in terms of letting land stay untaxed.
Does anybody know about the history of that site? This is absolute hearsay, but I attended an event at Ave Maria SoL when my brother went there, and somebody suggested (joked?) that Monaghan got the land cheap because it was a sensitive wetland-type area, then greased some skids to build there.
That’s incredible!
My daughter is 9 and does gymnastics. Last week she got the highest score on her team in an event, but because meets arbitrarily chop levels into divisions by age so they can give out more medals, she was 5th and a (lower-scoring) teammate was 1st in her div. She was DEVASTATED.
Surprising he was unclear about that bit, because he was so specific about what “I. D.” means.
The issue with being Koch-funded, to them: needing to be funded
but they knew exactly which part our dishwasher needed, to the point where they shipped it to arrive at the same time as the repair guy, and it took him like 25 minutes to fix it.
Meanwhile, LG has a repair program where they fix your LG appliance for a flat rate of ~$400, which sounded good because maybe the repair person would take a long time or need multiple parts...
Screenshot of a portion of LG's website. It reads: "Does this part fit my model?" "lfxs26973s/10" "No, This Part Does Not Fits in This Model"
Okay, actually, it says "No, This Part Does Not Fits in This Model"
I'm pretty sure LG is intentionally making it hard to figure out how to repair their doomed appliances. There's a page to look up your model number and then view the parts, but when you check if the listed fan motor works for your model—on the same page—it says "nah."
I’ve thought wistfully that the days of “Losers, in other words” were over because you’re just as nerdy as the rest of us, and boy does this warm my heart
We got one at the Sam’s Club outlot McDonald’s on Friday. So close!
