I say this every year, but:
The uni students I'm teaching are thoughtful, intelligent, will make everything they encounter better.
With a new addition for 2026:
They deeply hate AI.

The novelty blogs are an underrated feature of Tumblr, like I'm literally following a blog that just posts pictures of lichen and another one that's all pictures of semi trucks with the word "trans" on them

ποΈ March 3 is Sex Worker Rights Day (thatβs today).

Also, there are multiple strains of HPV covered by the vaxx, even if you know you're positive for one strain of HPV, you should still get vaccinated!
I got vaxxed a few years ago after an abnormal pap result came back as HPV.
If you lead with anger, if your politics is built out of grievance, then youβre always looking for a target for your anger. But the path to liberation is one built out of love, out of wanting to no longer feel hatred in your heart.
A digital illustration of a black crowned night heron in profile looking right, with a prominent bright red eye making them look especially expectant. Standing on a rock with green river-like swirly colors behind. The drawing is framed by a simple line, and under the frame lettering reads, 'Maybe it will happen today'.
This requires a longer bit of writing to really explore, but in our society we talk about βthe dignity of workβ, and thatβs a mistake. People, I think, donβt emotionally crave *work*, they crave to *make*. To make a change in the working some individually pleasing way, physical, emotional, social.
Tweet that reads Leo Xander @STALLEON Stop taking social media so serious. Nothing here is real. Look at this chicken V - it is bigger than the car
I think about this tweet every time I feel something online start to curl its annoying little grip into my head
NEW: The USPS changed its rules on how it postmarks ballots.
This may affect elections at every stage at which there's a mail deadline.
An underplayed one: VOTER REGISTRATION.
Many voters who send in their registration forms by mail could be postmarked late, missing out without realizing it.
Gonna have to update this scene.
so you've probably heard about the London measles outbreak. A lot of people are talking about anti-vax misinformation, but that's not actually the problem here. The problem is austerity. π§΅

A digital illustration of a fictional owl. In form similar to a barn owl with the same heart-shaped face but with the addition of feathery owl horns. It has a whitish face and belly and its wings, back, head, and tail are shared of deep red with gold spots and details including a gold tracing of its face shape and out to the end of the horns. It has deep, dark blue eyes and is perched on a branch. Next to the owl on the right is an hourglass the glass of which is housed in a slightly ornate gold structure with an organic viney motif. Most of the sand is in the bottom of the hourglass. Above that is some gold interconnected, art nouveau-esque lettering set inside a rectangle with a red background. The lettering reads βMaybe it will happen todayβ.

This is later than middle ages, but it reminds me of one very eye opening but of history for me.
Years back, I had just bought the best laptop I had ever owned. Iβd saved up for it, as it had cost a fair amount, but I was LIVING out of it. (This will make sense, I promise)

Yeah, most of the tv sheβs watched so far has been either reality tv (very specific formula in each episode) or 22-minute sitcoms aimed at kids which do not really require or reward patience with letting stuff play out, so weβre really pleased to have hit on something she likes thatβs more complex!
Just showed the kiddo Leverage for the first time and really appreciating how clearly it lays out stakes and story beats so our ten-year-old can actually follow a whole tv episode without asking us seven thousand times whatβs going on.
Plus, capitalism is the bad guy, so important life lessons.
