I didn't revisit any Tilton before shooting - I just remembered him from my youth as being an egregious huckster. You could send any amount of money in and he would send you back "anointed" scraps of cloth that he'd prayed over to receive your blessing.

I wish! This was a improvised bit where @paulgandersman.bsky.social & @peterhallhuman.bsky.social let me do some unscripted, in-character B-roll footage. The hand-on-the-screen bit was an old Robert Tilton gimmick that bubbled up to the surface while improvising.
