Florida man here - I don't believe your turtle is a snapper. The tail looks proportionately too short and the head is not cylindrical enough - they always have a prominent overbite / hawkbill. Also, a snapper's shell looks like an afterthought!

We can take the heat, but we are weenies in the cold. Although having worked in regions where the answer to "what's the temperature" is always -32 (F or C - iykyk) taught me ultimate respect, there is something especially raw about 35F with near 100% humidity in our latitudes.
