Mahavishnu Orchestra: Apocalypse
I’ve known John McLaughlin’s Mahavishnu Orchestra since childhood, thx to my Dad’s collection.
Legends like Billy Cobham, Bill Evans, Jan Hammer, Jean-Luc Ponty & Jerry Goodman played in the band through the years.
This is album, Apocalypse, was one of the best records produced by George Martin.
Prince and the Revolution – Parade
When I first heard this soundtrack, I dismissed it after 3 tracks as “Prince showing off he can make an album faster than others make a song”.
Years later I found out he actually did record the first 4 tracks in one take.
I gave it a second chance…
…and found out it is an absolute masterpiece.
Incredible formative seed. A butterfly effect of sorts.

Tangerine Dream: Logos LP
When I was 11, I went to a ski camp, got flu, and spent the week in isolation.
A lovely nurse took care for me, and I got equipped with my new friend’s Walkman with a single cassette I’d play on loop:
A: Jarre’s Zoolook
B: Tangerine Dreams’ Logos
Still my fav albums by both artists decades later.
