One of my favorite parts of last night’s election results.

The only Democratic talking point should be: we don’t abandon anyone.

All I can say is: Dark Horse’s deal with Berger Books got me my start in comics. The first folks I ever worked with were Karen Berger, then directly with Mike on The Mask, a character he co-created. As a kid Dark Horse changed me; as a writer Dark Horse welcomed me. Eternally grateful to Mike.

The cover of Public Enemy’s classic album, It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back.

Chuck D and Flavor Flav, two black men, stand behind the bars of a prison cell.

Chuck D wears a black Raiders jacket and cap. Flavor Flav wears a blue jacket, black hat, sunglasses, and a large clock around his neck because he knows what time it is.

β€œI got a letter from the government, the other day. I opened and read it, it said they were suckers.”

Chuck D; correct then, correct now.

People are always like what’s something you miss from the past and one of mine is antitrust laws

It’s always just them.

Most of the worst things happening to humanity are just 500 or so men (and at least one woman) who get together to bankroll evil. It’s not nuanced or complicated. Just true.

For Tayari Jones, All Roads and All Novels Lead to Atlanta

Love to see one of my favorite writers, and a dear friend, get her props when she deserves them.

The great Tayari Jones profiled in the Times. Her new novel, KIN, is out next week.

Exactly the same hollow men (and occasional women).

On the same day hospitals caved on healthcare for transgender children, the ACLU proved that when you fight this administration in court THEY LOSE!

The people & places who give in just wanted to do so all along. They had no principles, that’s why they didn’t fight.

Yeah. It was always contingent care, at best.

Manhattan Hospital Ends Medical Treatment for Transgender Youth

NYU-Langone joins the long list of cowards willing to throw the vulnerable under the bus. In this case, transgender kids.

He made it to the end. Really enjoyed the twists and turns at the end. Also liked that it was a sad end. A good movie night.

The movie poster for THE WAILING, a 2016 Korean film. The entrance to a home, stone walls on either side. Mountains loom in the background.

Watching THE WAILING with our 14 year old.

β€œThis is the first horror movie that’s actually scaring me,” he said.

An all time classic, one of the best ever made.

If it gets too scary for him we’ll turn it off. (I’ll finish it when he goes to bed.)

The United States government is imprisoning children in hideous conditions.

Don’t take my word for it, the kids wrote letters to speak for themselves.

How Local Law Enforcement Collaborates with ICE February 6, 2026

I published a short and quick primer on how local law enforcement, mostly sheriffs, can collaborate with ICE. I hope it's useful -- I also would love to know what people are seeing in their community.

β€œIt’s just weird to see a toddler in a pink onesie getting their eyes washed out from tear gas, you know?”

ICE is at war with the American people, even its children.
